Now, if you'll just sign this Loan Agreement and agree to pay 75% of everything you earn for the first 15 years of your working life, we can discuss your STUDENT LOAN .....
Best of luck, all the same!!

Congratulations Galen!
What do they mean every type of clothing will have electronic functions in ten years????...
Galen- Pitch 675(at the top of the tree)
Galen Posted Mar 19, 2003
well, i wouldn't worry, the expense of electronic clothing would be FAR to grand for us to buy it, its just for weird people!

Galen, save you searching for it, the recipe is Cut & Pasted below. Honestly, it really is one of the easiest meals to put together, mainly because it's so adaptable. The golden rule is "if it's cheap, it goes in the pot .....
Survival Scouse for Impoverished Students, Lesson 1
Basic ingredients are root vegetables, anything else cheap and available (according to season) and whatever happens to be the cheapest, nastiest cuts of the cheapest meat to hand, don't forget large handfuls of red lentils and pearl barley. (Unless, of course, you make BLIND SCOUSE which is even cheaper as it contains NO meat.....)
Seal the meat (if you're making the 'expensive' version) and toss in the root veg. Cover with sufficient water. Leave and forget until the root veg are tender [by which time even the cheapest meat will be edible!!]. Other veg can be added along the way, depending on how long you think they may need to cook. A stock cube or two, a glug of wine - anything goes!
Suggested accompaniment: pickled beetroot and/or red cabbage - YUM!!!
Galen- Pitch 675(at the top of the tree)
Galen Posted Mar 20, 2003
yum, sounds like it would go, turnips and carrots and some beets would be good in it

Reading all this stuff about Scouse is confusing me. In Britain, Scouse is an adjective to describe things from Liverpool, especially the people!
And how much did you say you scholarship was for?!?! I'm getting through university on about £4500 ($6750) per year and that's seen as being pretty generous round here.

some friends i met are going to be coming over soon, so be on your best behavior, ?
*quickly tidies up camp*
that seems cheap for college, wait, i may be confused, how much does it COST per semester?
Galen- Pitch 675(at the top of the tree)
Evangeline Posted Mar 21, 2003
Currently simmering in the kitchen(in a pot, that is... )
In order of addition to the pot:
1. Lentils and hulled Barley, water, herbal seasoning blend, brought to a boil and then simmered for a while
2. chopped Onion, chopped Turnips, chopped Carrots, chopped Potatos, added during the simmering
3. minced Garlic, ground Cayenne, pinch Sea Salt ,added when the simmering entered the final stages
I could be wrong...but, I assumed those people the adjective was applied to ate Scouse(hence the application of the adjective). I can't say much about other food preferences of other people...Crawfish are one of the dietary staples here. Personally, I'm allergic to crustaceans, but they are served everywhere in Lousiana.
If I read that correctly the scholarship was $15,000.00. The $6,750.00 is closer to a year's tuition here. If that includes room and board, then it is about the same. Bob, do you attend two or three semesters per year? Or is it divided different?
Galen, what is your major?

Just to clarify: the twin meanings of Scouse (person/recipe) are simply explained.
WE INVENTED THE DISH!!!!
Vikings will still try to claim that THEY invented it, and refer to "lobskavs"
The word refers to 'lobbing' or 'throwing' things into a pot: basically, this is what Scouse is.
The generic term used to refer to the inhabitants of Liverpool is a badge we WEAR WITH PRIDE!!!
Not to be confused with the tactics of certain soccer players recently who have been knlown to 'Scouse' an opponent during a match
(this is also known as the "Kirkby Kiss" , BTW ....)
