Glad to hear you are well. I'm fine, thanks. It actually feels like Autumn now.
The conversation gadget and the online list are pretty useful. The eyes are a little odd, though.

It's 60F at the moment here. Yesterday was a bit colder. We have had snow a total of once in the last ten years...Jan. 1 this year.

More than just a few researchers have offered to send me snow by the truckloads. Louisiana, being on the Gulf Coast is just not as cold as other places this time of year.

to virtually make up where RL Christmas was lacking
More of my family managed to attend the New Year's Eve Gumbo dinner at my cousin's house than usual. That was good to see more of them this time around. Then we found out that our cousins from Califonia will be in Louisiana for Easter. My brothers chipped in together and bought me something ridiculously expensive. And, Mike gave me the LOTR DVD...extended version.

I have friends and family in other states too. One of these days I have got to either fly to England or convince everybody on h2g2 to visit Louisiana...

Baton Rouge is closest, New Orleans is close enough. There are some other places in Alabama and Miss. which are considered in driving distance depending on the day of the week.
