Well, it's redundant by now, but I'm certianly planning on both. I can put out-of-towners up overnight, if it helps, though not more than about 3, I wouldn't think. smiley - erm

I live in Salem and would be honored to provide transportation. Granted I cannot arraign hyper-dimensional transport with just this little time just the ordinary three dimensional from Salem to Portland if needed.

Just give me the co-ordinates and I can be there for the 12th. I'm previously engaged on the 5th.

I'll add yousmiley - ok

As far as coordinates, I'd guess that the Greyhound station would be a good place to start on the 12thsmiley - winkeye

I thought that you were going to spend some time in Salem, is this true?
Will you need a ride up to Portland instead of going by bus?

I was offering that ride.

Yes I know where the Portland bus depot is what time?

Hey! This is nukewaste from lj. I'll definately make the 5th, maybe the 12th. Looking up old friends in the area, because it's a long bus ride from Seattle to Portland.

Anyhoo, 5th is a go.

Well, on the 5th I'll be wearing my h2g2 t-shirt. Maybe I'll wear it again on the 12th... But the constants are glasses, long dark brown hair, about 5' 7", weight hopefully less than now smiley - tongueout (call it a medium build), and connected by a red harness (I'll have the leash end, of coursesmiley - laugh) with Elmo on it to a 32" tall, 24 lb 20-month-old girl with dark ash blond/light ash brown hair. Plus when I get the online album caught up (the next couple weeks, I promise!) there'll be some recent photos. More of Faith than me, since I'm the main camera user around here, but I'm sure there's at least *one*...

This is perhaps the thread that most of us meeter-uppers are subscribed to...

Hi everyone. smiley - smiley Gingersnapper and I scouted out meeting places yesterday. We liked the Eco-Trust Building, about a 4 block walk from the Greyhound station. Inside there's a big foyer area with a pizza parlor and a coffee shop attached to it. Nice place. A park is just across the street, and weather permitting, that could be a good place to hang about.

I guess Ginger and I will be picking up Amy and Faith at the airport around 3:00. We'll probably have them and their bags to the Greyhound station by 3:30 or 3:40. Meanwhile, if Mikey and NuclearConfusion are already down from Seattle, they could already be set up at the Eco-Trust Building, perhaps? The rest of us will be there before 4:00, I think it's safe to say. We'll hang out there for a bit, get some Pizza and coffee in us, and maybe check out the park. The bus leaves at 6:45... Maybe at 5:00 we could migrate from Eco-Trust to Wilf's, which opens then. It's nice there, whoever wants to could get smiley - stiffdrink drinks smiley - redwine, and it's quite literally a short stone's throw from the Greyhound station. They might have piano-playing entertainment as well. smiley - musicalnotesmiley - musicalnote

That's about an hour at the pizza place/park, and then an hour (and change) at the fancy piano bar place. After Amy and Faith get on the bus, those of us remaining could adjourn to... anywhere, really, or maybe we'll be done by then. That part, I'm willing to play by ear. smiley - bigeyes

How does that sound, as a plan? Suggestions are still quite welcome and good. Amy, we had talked about a couple of places like OMSI and CM2; they are a bit trickier logistically, but if your heart's set on some particular place, then let's make it happen. smiley - ok

I'm still trying to figure out which weekend I'm coming -- I really can't afford, time wise, to go both. Hmmmm.....

OMSI and CM2 both deserve a whole day, I think, so dropping them is probably a good ideasmiley - ok

Like I said over in our other thread, pizza's fine with me! I can just put a short-sleeved shirt on Faith, and I've got disposable bibs to bring along. Plus, I've got a portable booster chair on its way, so high chairs aren't a concern. So if this plan works for everyone else, I'll put it on the page. For that matter, I can put it under 'Possibilities' now...

Do we want to do anything different on the 12th? I can certainly do pizza on both the 5th and the 12th, but if anyone else doing both days isn't a huge pizza fan, that's ok too. I may or may not be able to get online at Grandma's, so if we don't figure out what we want to do on the 12th before I head down to Salem, I'll happily go along with whateversmiley - ok

It looks like I will be coming on the 12th. First, because I really want to meet dim26trav in person smiley - cheers and also because a friend called last night and her husband is willing to pay for me to take her out of town for this weekend, so she can have some "adult" time away from the kids. smiley - cool

So, NuclearConfusion -- if you need a ride the weekend of the 12th, drop a note on my personal space and we will work out the details.

And GTB, I just responded to your email.

smiley - cheers to all
Mikey
