Roger that. I'm trying to work something out, but right now, I might have to nix the 5th and just go on the 12th.
I'll let everyone know tomorrow. Or see some of you on the 5th.
I wanna go!

I'll go update then
Oh, and fair warning--I may not be in the merriest of moods on the 12th (and maybe not on the 5th, either) If you're wondering why, see my journal (unless, of course, you already know... (but then, you wouldn't be wondering))

Ok, so obviously, March 5th happened! ( Where *does* the time go?)
Gingersnapper and I met Amy at PDX and caravanned into town, where we got bags checked at the bus depot. From there, we migrated a few blocks west for Pizza and a stroll in the park. Over the table at Pizza, Faith and I traded drum licks (we banged on our plates), and while I'm not a doctor, I'm prepared to say, the kid's got rhythm!
As it got dark, we headed back "Wilf's", the railway station bar/lounge across the street from Greyhound, where we snacked and sipped and eventually put Amy and Faith on the bus to Salem. Ginger and I stuck around for another round or two and enjoyed the jazz combo that set up and started playing.
So, that was an unqualified success, for the first half of the meet! There were just the four of us, plus about 6 paper attendees. Amy took photos, but they're on her digital, and may not be online until she returns to Sacramento.
For this coming weekend, we did a bit of brainstorming, and basically came up with this:
Amy and Faith arrive in the bus station around 1 pm on Saturday. Those of us who wish, will be milling about in the public area outside of Wilf's, between Union Station and the Greyhound building, under the big magnolia tree, or so. We'll probably hang around that part of town until about 2:00, and the Hot Lips Pizza in the Eco-Trust buliding between 9th and 10th, between Irving and Johnson, is the good place to meet for those who aren't there early enough to catch the bus coming in.
(Some swapping of cell phone numbers should probably go on, among those who will have them, to facilitate all finding each other.)
Maybe around 3:00, we'll leave the west side and head towards the airport, where the goal is to have our Pawloskis checked in and with boarding passes in hand a nice comforatble long time before the flight. Then, we can snack right there in the airport (shopping and dining is on the OUTside of security), or somewhere nearby until they need to go to the gate. After Amy and Faith fly south, the rest of us may adjourn to some other locale - I'm inclined to suggest a place in SE Portland called "The Pub at the End of the Universe" (4107 SE 28th Ave, 97202), for obvious reasons. I've never been there, but I hear it's real cool.
How does all that sound to people?

So did the paper attendees--though everyone had to return to the envelope once Faith decided to try to 'wash' folks with the wipe

GTBacchus Posted Mar 11, 2005
That I haven't, although I gave her directions to Wilf's and Hot Lips. If you email me your cell phone number, Ginger, I'll forward it to Mikey. I seem to have misplaced my copy of it from last week.

I will be leaving in an hour and a bit, heading towards Portland. Dug through my emails, and realized that I could find GTB's home phone but not a cell phone number, and definitely don't have Ginger's. I emailed him my cell number, though (AND remembered to charge it last night!). I will have it on in the car while I drive, and may try calling GTB's home number when I take a pit stop around Olympia or so. Y'all can certainly call either my cell number or my home number (which I believe I left on GTB's answering machine last night, I certainly hope it was his!) with any additional info or numbers -- although I'm unlikely to answer either while driving, I can check voicemail for both while on the road.
Now that I know what I am wearing, this should help -- jeans, pink t-shirt, khaki jacket, butterfly scarf.
See y'all this afternoon!
I wanna go!
