George Santayana said "Those who cannot learn from history are doomed to repeat it?

So that is why I keep going around in circles repeating myself, repeating myself

Actually like D.N.A. Mr. Santayana was an atheist. Even though he is given a great deal of respect and his quips are listed along with the other greats of history. This ultimately is the respect the worldy get and it is sad to think that that is all he will get. That and a gravemarker with his name on it.

The quiet and humble Christians without the great quips that can be catalogued and without the cheering crowds, go onto eternal life rewarded by the maker of the universe. Sad to think the atheist accepted such a small pitiful reward considering the stakes. Whether or not the Christian even gets a gravemarker at all, his name is listed in the Lamb's book of life.

Reinhold Niebuhr:

Nothing worth doing is completed in our lifetime, Therefore, we are saved by hope. Nothing true or beautiful or good makes complete sense in any immediate context of history; Therefore, we are saved by faith. Nothing we do, however virtuous, can be accomplished alone. Therefore, we are saved by love. No virtuous act is quite as virtuous from the standpoint of our friend or foe as from our own; Therefore, we are saved by the final form of love which is forgiveness.
