February A30081700 Winter Birds of the Niagara Gorge
If you haven't read it, I urge you all to do so. It's not on the short list, but it's a terrific entry.

Can we vote on Entries that aren't shortlisted? If so, I'm switching my vote over to that one - I did nominate it last month, after all.

See here:
But I don't like any of your suggestions!
That's fine. My shortlist are just personal favourites. If you've seen something you like, please vote for that Entry instead. It would help if you could include a A-Number by way of a link.

January was a cracking month.
I'm going to vote for the Ashtabula Horror A29443223 but against any other selection the Cox Plate A29878744 would have it. Both these Entries are boundary-moving in terms of EG content. Both will be remembered for the feelings they convey and the emotions they induce in the reader.
Very good but more EG-conventional in the same month were the PB Shelley set and Vindolanda.
February doesn't reach the same heights, except for IMO a really clear-cut best in Winter Birds of the Niagara Gorge A30081700. Same story as in Jan really; that one's an Entry you can feel. This time, my runner-up would be the Woking Martian A31189746, though it probably files under "quirky", which is arguably the Kiss of Death for a hootoo Entry.
And yes, none of the Entries mentioned here were short-listed. Short-lists are not the stuff of blizzards, though I can see that they're a necessity to stimulate participation in this, and that's definitely good.
More power to you B, though as we all know your taste is all over the place.

If you want to help with the shortlists, you're more than welcome. I, for one, hold your literary taste in high esteem.

I'd like to change my January vote to Ashtabula Horror - is that OK? I enjoyed the style of writing so much that I actually commented on the entry...
