*The study is silent. Pale grey ashes in the fireplace, a thin film of dust on the furniture. Sunlight through the window lights up a Brownian procession of dust motes in the air. The flowers are well past their best.*

*Kes enters, with several parcels and bags. He begins sweeping the furiture and floors - happy at having found a new skill with his wings*

Goodness! What a mess! Can't have the place looking like this, with FC due back soon. There! that's tidier. Oh! Those flowers - poor things.

*Carries them off into the kitchen, returns with fresh vase of flowers - some native spring flowers from his patch*

Right - now let's re-lay the fire, so she can start it any time she wants .... and fluff up the cushions ... and some biscuits - must have biscuits ..

There that's better - all ready for her to come home to!

* St.Peter walks in to place a fresh crown of holly on a red satin pillow in the corner of the room... *

*stops*

*takes it all in*

*cries in joy as the fragrance of the flowers penetrates her*

*dumps her bag*

*starts the fire and tries on the crown*

*is very glad to have such friends*
