I would just like to say that - not having read the back-log yet - this is a very odd statement to walk in on, Munchkin.
Off to read the rest. Matina, may I have some please? Its early for me.
*sits down with a print out of the back-log and her and chuckles to herself*

Matina champagne please. We've got an exciting event to celebrate today (Saturday), Donny Osmond's 43rd birthday. Glug.
Whatever happened to his younger brother, the long-haired lover from Liverpool?

*Again (I'm sure there's a pattern here...), Chris pops in, instead of Pr. C. Tonks. All the same...*
Hi guys!
So then, we all survived a small flood, and I myself survived school... Ready to live another weekend!
Ah yes, things to do this weekend as well -
- decorate the new house
- work on my website (now easier to navigate, over at .[url removed by moderator] It'll have form-based e-mail support soon, and will contain a media section for my 3DS Max artwork, better and easier AlterLife Entry navigation, and whatever else! In a few minutes, you'll be able to access the new site from the old address at [url removed by moderator] , but not quite yet - having trouble with my ISP...)
- do some more 3DS Max rendering
- and loads of other things, not least coursework for school!
Oh, the Professor should be finished saving the Universe(s) sometime tomorrow or the day after, but that's if I can hold on to my plot, and continuity - there's a lot on my mind now, believe me...
Anyway, best be off (sorry I have so little time, but if I want to actually join in a conversation, I prefer to be in VR guise, which I can't be right now 'cus I'm true to continuity...)...
You can check out my website in a bit if you want - just got to set up my form mailer...
Cyall!
*Chris vanishes, off to do all those things just mentioned...*
**The narrator faints from looking at the pretty extensive list...**
***So does the narrator's narrator, and I am probably going to now as well... - swoon - ...***

Bye, Titania!
*grabs an empty and fills it for herself*
Well, the back-log is finished and Munchkin's comment still worries me.
To Donnie. Thanks for filling us in, Loony.
*drinks *

Note scribbled on back:
Never thought it'd come to this, but I am tired, stressed out, writing two papers, and trying to learn Greek IRL. I have learned a lot this semester (see my journal), but it isn't helping my marks at the moment! Heavy drugs anyone? And don't forget X-mas shopping and balancing my checkbook.

Personal to Babel-17:
I shall reply to you next week. I very much appreciated the e-mail, I'm just absolutely swamped--and to find your address in my inbox would at the moment be like an archaeological dig. I've heard something from her! I'm very sorry about what happened and have the utmost sympathy.

*comes trundling in with a wheelbarrow toting an enormous pile of papers, pamphlets and forms. Deposits them on table in library*
Deck the halls with tax forms and red tape, it's college apps time!
So many forms and so little time...ghaaaaah...
Uh oh.
What's my social security number again?
*disappears mole-like into heap of viewbooks and FASFA/PROFILE papers, wielding her freshly sharpened, trusty #2 pencil*

The backlog in this place is positively surreal. I begin to see the real value of a decent vr infrastructure. Without context we would be mumbling autistic specimens straight out of 12 Monkeys.
*Matina makes a strange sound and sets out tostado chips and salsa along with some Coronas on ice and a small plate of sliced limes*
Are you laughing at me?
I am working on a particularly poignant tintype! I got it in a job lot of a dozen from eBay and I didn't think it would be anything special -- a woman from the 1880's or '90s (I'll know as soon as I fix the date of the hat style), standing between some standard photo props. The image is dark and rather heavily stained, plus it even has some paper stuck to it. I thought it might make a good before-after specimen and began working on her after I scanned the image. The woman is very plain, a spinster (no ring), and at first glance Mike would have called her a 'right munter.' But what appeared to be a deeply recessed chin is actually dirt. The table next to her is a period treasure, all brass bits and swags of beads around the edge, and the vase on the table is even cooler cos it has another portrait on it! Most interesting (and a little sad) is that the dress doesn't fit her well; it's too small. So while one hand holds a small book (a bible or psalter I would bet), the other is clenched at her midriff. She is pulling the dress in so that the spaces between the buttons won't gap. It catapults an ordinary twopenny portrait into a whole new dimension of human experience.
That's what I've been up to the past couple of days!
*stuffs a piece of lime down the long neck of a Corona and tilts it back*
*dip crunch crunch*

l still say it's a rather bizarre practise to force people registering to be put into a financial-aid-for-college-tuition program to pay a fee...
Hiya Lil. Coronas?
*wades out of library, shakes viewbook off her foot, puts some suitably surreal Zappa on the stereo (Jesus Thinks You Are A Jerk, with its Pat Robertson Presidency references, for the occasion), and wanders over, snagging one*
So has anarchy erupted in your street yet? Electors being burnt?
