It wasn't until I lived in England that I learned to appreciate the seasonality of food. New potatoes and broccoli sprouting in the spring, brussels sprouts, cabbage and potatoes for mash in the fall. There always seemed to be a greater variety of fruits and veggies, too.
When I came back to the US I hunted in vain for Bramley apples or even an adequate substitute, for "new" potatoes or young broccoli. Mind you, Florida is at the very end of truck and rail transport routes from CA or the more temperate zones that produce spuds and sweet corn.

We put in garlic, as usual. And we planted a pear in place of the dying magnolia tree. But unless Titania and Witty can send a lot more rain, we’ll be doing well to keep the perennials alive. So, no tomatoes. We’re supposed to start level 3 water restrictions next month.
It’s odd to think that so much produce goes to Florida.

Even more odd to think of asparagus being shipped all the way from Peru to Sweden. You'd think it could come from somewhere closer like, I don't know, Portugal?

Milla, if you're taking requests, 35 more inches of rain, please, between now and May 1st, and maybe a few light showers in May and June, if it’s not too much bother. That should catch us up. http://countrystudies.us/united-states/weather/California/ukiah.html
Now I feel somewhat envious of the Peruvian asparagus. I'd like to go to Sweden.

Ther's been a decrease in downpour here, very temporarily, so I'll do my best to ensure it goes your way. *making hnnnggnndhhh sounds of effort*
And do come here. We have beds. Spare beds even. Although it happens to be in the living room.
As for asparagus, yes, there is usually *some* all year round, but at times it is fairly wilted.

Asparagus. Tried it a few times and have been completely underwhelmed.
Bread came out well yesterday, better than my usual brick like efforts.

That's a pretty river, but the pond is a bit homely...

We currently get spring weather. It's still cold in the mornings but during the day it's nice, although sometimes rainy. We'll see if there will be any more snow this winter, we didn't have much. Although in more alpine regions they had problems with sudden strong snowfalls during the last few weeks.
Last year winter (and snow) stayed until May, so I wouldn't mind if this one is shorter.

Living on the west coast of scottishland I have rain to spare!
What would you like? I've got torrential downpour (Garunteefd to overwhelm any drainage system) I've got intermittent showers, rain and hail mixed, sideways rain ( that's in your face wchever way you turn) and I've got drizz
Take your pock!

Lil
That pond was in the grounds of a very big house, before it became a public park.
Anyway that's the bit that's been dry for at least 10 years, and I can't remember it ever having water in on the rare occasions I've been over there.

Hi Mini. So many precipitation choices. Please send one heavy rain/snow storm every other day from now through May.

That rain is not playing nice - giving the UK way too much and the California s way too little . Am impressed with Millas sound-efforts, though!
I can state that the air is very dry and very fresh in Lansing, Michigan. The car said 14°F (-10°C) and that feels about correct
