Hmmm..... I will have to give the new a go for a while, especially with the amount of work that has been done to H2G2.

Lil, just fantastic! Peoples' mountains come in all sizes. Getting to the summit is special, regardless of size.

I'm holding back on new skin until I have time for a proper exploration, although I have been to Pliny for a look around and see a lot to admire -- not just the surface aesthetics but the stuff under the hood that Pastey ha worked so hard on.

Two therapy sessions a day now, morning and afternoon. This morning I demStaffonstrated my long-time terror of falling forward during some simple core strength exercises. I was supposed to simply lean forward and stretch my arms forward while holding a ball, and I couldn't. Shoulders locked up solid, hyperventilating -- the floor is down there! Danger, Will Robinson, danger! Therapist down backed me away from the fear zone and gave me exercises to strengthen core and give me self-confidence.

Therapist #2 will doubtless build on that...

Bugs: we had a moth plague earlier this spring. Staff told me that they couldn't open a door to the outside without admitting a whole flutter of moths.

The last week or there about I'vebeen working on debugging some code in a supposed dead language. Fortran.
It is still used and not just as legacy code. I've been working on stuff supplied to one of our researchers from the Met Office. Just because you don't declare something doesn't mean it is NULL/FALSE

Conveniences aren't very convenient when they stop working. I've just discovered that our dishwasher is on the fritz. Doesn't appear to have power, all of the circuit breakers are good which means I get to be the dishwasher for two days.

Good start to the day so far - I almost was deaded by a taxi that shot out of a minor road without looking, hitting another cyclist that was in front of me, and then driving off.

And our building has no water. The workmen who are here to create a media academy by installing bean bags and scatter cushions (They are also knocking down the walls of the corridor below to create curvy walls (so that students walking along the corridor don't have to walk in a straight line but can stagger to and fro, thus making our uni more attractive to drunks) have managed to destroy our water supply - so no water, toilets or today.

Eats, yes the extra money will be good but it's the being pushed kicking and screaming up the management ladder away from the technical work that I'm resisting. It'll be good experience I'm sure.

I do so much recognise that feeling! I am deep down a "need to have my hands dirty in actual marketing work" kind of person with no management ambitions.

Which is why I am slowly scaring myself with my current ambition of succeeding in growing & expanding my current product area to a size where it may become a separate business unit within the company. That might entail not only management but virtual (multiple-continents) management

Our tumble drier is on it's last legs (well, those wee knobs you heighten or lower to get it to be steady...)

We do use it a lot, but have decided to switch to a gas one, as they're supposedly 60% more efficient!
