Fab that you're escaping your bed, Lil. How long are your sessions. When will the nightly interruptions cease. And why haven't I used ???
Game of Thrones - Tyrion quickly became my favourite character, both in the book and especially on screen. Just waiting for the next book to appear. The story slows a bit as it progresses, but that's more to do with how many lead characters he's created.

* wonders if the Vikings have developed a hankering for Haggis, hence the buying up of chunks of Scotland*
Congrats, GDZ and J -- "times flies when you're having fun" says it all.

Argh! *trying to solve a gaming problem by updating whatever she can*
Right, updated drivers for my graphics card, but...
'To be sure you obtain the full features/customizations provided in your original audio product, please download the latest drivers from your system/motherboard manufacturer's website.'
System/motherboard?
I think I might be a bit slow today, because that just whizzed right by me - the what? Where? How?

Morning all.
Ti, it's trying to tell you that something is up with your sound drivers. Since most sound cards are part of the motherboard, you need to check the motherboard manufacturer's site for sound drivers.

Where in system information can one find the name of the motherboard manufacturer?
So yesterday I was hoisted into the wchair and got to actually see something of this facility I'm in, on my way to the gym. My assigned wchair is rather swish, with a reclining back and all, but it's heavier and bigger than mine at home. Well, it's probably not that much heavier, but I'm weaker. At the moment.
I was taken through the dining area, where long-term residents were being gathered for lunch, all in their wchairs. I found it creepy, a feeling I need to examine, because I feel sort of guilty about my repulsion. So many of them were like twisted, stunted trees, and several were zoned-out, leaning sideways and drooling. I think I could deal with them one at a time, but a room full was really off-putting.
Maybe my repulsion stems from being in a wchair myself, and I am frantically refusing to be in the club, as it were. Some of the people I saw are on the other side of a line I draw for myself, regarding quality of life.
And I hadn't been posting much lately because my roommate, whom I had got to know and like, is dying. Stage 4 cancer, diabetes, perforated bowel, blood clots, you name it. I thought she might rally after the gamma knife surgery, but no. She was moved out of my room to long-term (which will serve as hospice) 2 days ago. We had had conversations about quality-of-life decisions -- I should mention she is a retired charge nurse -- and she was adamant that she did not want her life extended beyond the point where she could enjoy it.
Sorry to be somber. I've been in hospitals for 3 months now, and this is what happens in these places.
On the up side, I've made friends with a lot of staff members. It's sort of surprising, the variety of people now in my life.

Good tp hear you are getting around, Lil. I would likely have been troubled by that dining room, too - the mini-version with 6 or so at my Mother's place can be bad enough.
For us dancefloor 70-80s types, sad news: Donna Summer died today, age 63.

If the PC is a Dell, HP, etc. the drivers would be available on the manufacturer website. If Ti built it herself, she knows who the manufacturer is.

Santra - They played some Donna Summer on Radio 2 this morning. That was more heavy breathing and ecstatic moaning than I normally hear on my morning commute.

Lost wi-fi for a while.
And then there was "She Works Hard for the Money" -- I remember hearing that a lot in Corfiot discos.
Room-mate passed away last night.
I did a little too much physical therapy on Thursday and the wound tech busted me. Three days off and then start again.

"She Works Hard for the Money" -- anthem for the 70's and the women's movement. Just goes to show, even with a great theme song, ERA could've used a little less bra-burning...and a little more voting to have passed 2 more states.
I'm thinking it's high time we tried the ERA again. Is America the last industrialized place women didn't make a lasting step forward, and are being shoved back into the kitchen?
