A good hat to ward off zombies/possession/abduction/CIA mind reading. Should be based on a large aluminium colander covered with extra thick bacofoil turkey wrap. A velcro chin strap is also advised as you may be running for your life at the time.
The worst coffee I have ever tasted was at a motorway services just south of Glasgow a few weeks ago. Undrinkable

Welcome, scrumph. Good to meet the Agapanthus-other-half, so to speak.
Halloween was tame for us. Most of the kids to come through our neighborhood arrived before sunset, so we got ample opportunity to observe and comment upon their costumes. We saw everything from store-bought to homespun ingenuity to slap-dash flung-together. We only had one repeated character and that was IronMan, though each costume was made differently. One of the truly inspired costumes was a tweenager in a large cardboard box with dials and lights, wrapped in silver tinfoil, as well as the arms and legs, and box for the head sporting an antenna. Scrawled on the box were instructions to Activate / Deactivate the Robot. Domo arigato!
Remind me NEVER to get in Ag's way when she's sleep-deprived and can't find a cup of Java.
[Remembering what Ti said, B4 begins wrapping his head in tinfoil and shaping it to fit…then remembers what Phil said about fancy-wrapped chocolates with gooey centers, and scrabbles to rip it all off…]
Pronouncing my name is really easy. The surname is derived from 52W/Y. And I ~do~ have to emphasize that quite frequently, or else folks are tempted to make me out to be a puny milquetoast. My original given name was just "too formal and stuffy" for my tastes, so I brainstormed with a young lady in my first military technical school and we came up with a set of initials as a nickname. The reason I needed a nickname was because I don't have a middle name. I'd belly-ached to her that ~every~ ~single~ ~piece~ of military paperwork I had to fill out required me to insert NMN or NMI to account for the lack of a middle name. If my parents had simply given me a middle name, I could have easily use a single letter in those Bob-forsaken boxes and been done with it. So…I took on the nickname and it stuck…for over thirty years now. What still amazes me is when people take those two simple letters and, instead of devoting the extra syllable to the process, shorten my name and call me "Teej."
I didn't used to snore, until I got married. Then I had someone there to tell me I was doing so. Oddly enough, that same someone also partakes of the same vice, as I've mentioned to her.
Question for Gw7en:
How's Austin these days? I was there when Bergstrom AFB still existed; I felt the screen door hit me in the kiester on the way out, because they closed the base. Did the city turn it into a municipal airport like the said they would?

I'm of a split mind today, not fractured as is the more usual
A very personable and friend-to-everyone uncle died yesterday, aged 81. He was slowly losing his mind for a time, and then not long after his frail bride of 57 years fell and broke bones ... He tumbled down some stairs causing serious head damage. Except for brief glimpses since he re-awoke, he was not of this world.
I last visited with him well maybe 15 years ago, have the fondest memories of him and his wife (which is rare of any of my family, as some will know) The funeral is a solid 5-hour drive each way, for a man that I only knew somewhat but liked a lot. And being a brother-in-law of my recently deceased father, there will be the sadly small number of aunts and uncles surviving to attend.
A day and a half away when there are many things to do at home pre-winter, or just be a presence at a small family affair. I am already leaning 66% one way ... But ...

I'm afraid I can't think of any relevant names. From days of old I do recall a scout that was on the same training that I was at - her family name was Møballe, which translates roughly to Virginbuttocks. Must have been a hard timefor her during her teens...

One of the customers at the bank had changed his name by deedpoll to Ian Fantastic, which he always wrote as I Am Fantastic.

Hello. I've just come back from the card shop, where I bought a card in preparation for my wife's birthday. I bought a big card saying 'Happy birthday to my wife' in large, friendly letters on the front, which the person behind the till commented on, and then spent ages asking if I wanted to buy some stamps.
Actually I live with my wife, and so stamps are not required.

i always thought that juan valdez led an ass with coffee strung acros its back because of the implication that aforementioned ass was exactly what the coffee tasted like.

We have a sports reporter for the local rag named Anvil Welch. Only person I've ever known named Anvil.
Just the suggestion of people not liking coffee has me shaky. To wake up or drink with a meal I want it strong and black, no sugar. But for a dessert or treat I sometimes add cream and flavorings. And I've developed the habit of always adding coffee to hot chocolate.
Tea in these parts is primarily in a glass over ice, especially in the summer. I seldom drink hot tea unless the weather is cool. I absolutely never put sugar or any other sweetener in my tea. But I do like a chai latte which has some sweetener. Like Marv, I don't want it too sweet.
Marv, I'm sorry that coffee is bothering you. I know how much you enjoy a good brew.

I am about to be evicted from my desk while a neighbor puts curtains (including rod and brackets) up at my office window. I will Santra from my netbook later on.

I have my " snob" - loose leaf Irish breakfast - which I have not yet brought in to work. It is finally getting chilly enough in the morning to justify doing so. Most mornings in warm weather start off with a Diet Dr Pepper - it's just easier and less expensive than buying tinged desserts.

Kitty, I'm still looking into that error.
Tea is the drink of the deities, the be all and end all, the cure for all ills and a down right good thing.
Coffee is for those that can't make a good cuppa.

I know I'm one of the only people in Lincoln County with an electric kettle. There is a Mr. Coffee in my kitchen, but it is gathering dust. Quite a lot of dust.
