Now testing to see what's become of the 400 bug...

Hmmm? Is Alabaster the only skin that shows the number of recent postings in the My Conversations list? That is a feature I do like - the conveniency of jumping straight into where the conversation dropped me off last...

I assume Lil is referring to the fact that the LEDs, at least in Goo, only go up to 400. This LED was hidden for me.

I see. That was something Jim Lynn did when the servers couldn't cope back in 2006.

The 400 bug is where, at multiples of 400, the led fails to appear that would alert you to the existence of more ports. After 20 posts it rights itself, until you get to 800... or 1200... or 1600...

Tiger Tiger burning bright...
Were there no other zoos, safari parks etc available anywhere nearby that could take them, even if they had to stay sedated for a day or two? When I was a lad they were still walking the tiger cubs from Sandown Zoo along the beach each day...

Alabaster has it-it's the right hand arrow being orange that gives further leds away.

Sadly, there were no adequate facilities anywhere within reach. And, as someone already pointed out, it was night and tigers were on the interstate highway and in people's backyards, and tranquilizing large predators at night is just too dangerous. John Hanna was practically in tears, talking about it.

I've been vacillating for over year between retiring at 65 or 66. It is definitely going to be 65. It appears that Smellfungus is actively lobbying to be reappointed to the library board. The mayor and I have an understanding, but his term is up in spring 2014. It doesn't look like he will run for reelection again. If he doesn't, or if he does and loses, I will likely lose my protection from Smellfungus. I don't think I could cope with her again.
I've been figuring and my pension will be about $100 a month less. Staying the extra year isn't worth $100 a month if she is reappointed.

I've always respected Mr Hanna. And to see that he was upset, but still convinced that they had done the right thing made me even more angry at the selfish man who put the animals and care takers into that position.

"Not sure you should count on me though"
An abacus would be more efficient, I suspect.

Well, Hyp, sounds as though you need to run for Mayor.

I confess to my eyes filling with tears over the Bengal tigers. But, really, you have hungry confused frightened angry stressed out tigers on the interstate at night? Your choices are limited.
I am able to spare a sorrowing thought for the 'owner' as well. Anyone disturbed to damage the cages and let all those animals out into the neighbourhood before killing himself, must have been suffering vilely himself. I'm not saying this to excuse him - it's not excusable - but given the state he was in, he's not exactly blamable either. Unless one blames him for, in his more composed days, being amazingly stupid enough to buy an entire menagerie of dangerous and endangered animals in the first place and cram them into cages.
*Abrupt topic change*
I must say, in Ala-illegitimate-son-of-a-camel, names and LEDs are all working quite nicely, thank you. Perhaps you-all should be politer about this plain but serviceable skin?

I always live in alabaster. And I like ABBA, too.
And I just realized that I should pull the offsite atelier link until I update all the links that point to the BBC.

Good to know. But still, I need to clean it up. My whole site is overdue for a facelift, it's half-finished and still very 2003.
