Dizzy the Void

I'm starting to feel more of a sort of ... pressure, I guess you could say, about the impending move, every time I come to the H2G2 lately.

Finally got a packet from the Social Security people; *I* might be able to say I'm "officially disabled" soon ...

There's a superb tech team working on the code right now. I think we'll be OK. I know we will be, on the other side of the transfer.

It was actually 2 words, La and Atelier so I actually got 70 points for it. Triple letter score on an A (5 points for La), Triple word score for Atelier (30 points), and 35 bonus for using all of my letters.

At least I think it means cold weather is coming very soon (the geese always seem to wait until the very last minute before migrating) but the weather forecast promises sun and almost summery temperatures this week smiley - huh

Blah. Tried to get a grip on my sleep problems by going to bed an hour earlier than usual ... so, of course, my body decides that the apropos thing to do is to wake up *three* hours earlier than usual. smiley - zzz

For Ti:
Most memorable gaming moment for TJ IRL was on a Commodore 64/128, playing a text-based game called "Alter Ego." The premise was based on psychological research and testing as the underpinning to the game dynamics. You answer a series of personality-based questions at the outset (truthfully, if you comply with instructions), then the game begins with your birth. You progress through multiple stages of "growing up" and making decisions on the "perceived environment" presented, with each choice effecting the next branch of your growth and decision base. You could do a "check-up from the neck up" if you wanted to see your attributes for a particular stage of development, kind of like a self-examination.
smiley - ok
Anyway, I'd "grown up, gotten a job, and gotten married" along the way to a wonderful woman named Toni. We had a wonderful life together, aside from a faux pas where I conversed with a "former girlfriend" at a party, causing some jealousy. In our "later years" together, Toni's health started to decline. At one point, the game informed me: "You hear a crash in the bathroom. When you go to examine, you find Toni collapsed on the floor. What do you do?" I picked her up gently and carried her to the bed, then called the hospital. It wasn't long afterwards that she passed away, though she held my hand and smiled as we parted company. What a sobering piece of 'gameplay' that was!
smiley - brave
Not too long after her passing, my character "gave up the ghost" as well, only to be "reborn" into a whole new life, reincarnated, as it were, to start a new session. The initial questions were repeated and you had the chance to modify your responses for a different gameplay experience. What a novel concept.
