Apparently the BCs keep their fluoroscopes well hidden. I do know where to find a centrifuge but am unsure how to adapt it to hold boxes of Cracker Jacks.

Duct-tape, obviously ...

Have you actually checked out the prizes in Cracker Jacks lately? I don't know why they bother. No self-respecting kid would want one. Litle pieces of paper stuck together with something boring written inside. No more whistles or mini yo-yos or bendy toys.

Now please, if I may call on the varied wisdom of the Atelier?

I have a rather old bungalow that still sports the double-sash, sliding windows of the 1970's. The cost of upgrades are well beyond our present means. One in particular is the guest room, south-east corner and facing east. Mature maples keep it cool and shady ...

And a natural zone for annoying big spiders to find their way in and nest between the panes.

Does anyone know of perhaps common kitchen herbs or such to leave between the panes that would dissuade spiders from moving in?

Googling some Swedish forum threads, it would seem smiley - spider don't like lavender or lemon.

Believe it or not, this season we have almost NOTHING of lavendar in the place. How-ever, Milady has one little tube of lavendar infused foot balm. So a rub into a pair of lady's make-up sponges are now between the panes. Discrete, and worth a try ...

Get a tube of clear silicon caulking and seal around the panes so the spiders can't get in in the first place?

Hey Yar! Make yourself at home. Or better, stir up a little adventuriness -- have you seen the map of this place? The link is on the forum page, A304354.

The abandoned adventure threads remind me of that scene in Altered States, where the people are frozen in ambiguous poses while sand dunes build up around their bodies.

I don't know what keeps spiders away. It would be impossible to seal the old house I live in except by levitating it and enclosing it in a Virtual Patio Bubble.

Two sets of sliding glass panes, one screen mesh so one side is open to the breezes in the evening but not free flying bugs ... Sealing tight would not be the better idea, but thank you smiley - smiley

Dizzy the Void

Just started writing a "Saving The Best For Last" entry, before I even got finished reading through this thread's backlog.

Mog's Usual, eh? The "triple espresso with an extra shot of espresso, and a shot of espresso on the side (with an extra shot of espresso." "And make it strong this time." Man, it's probably been years since I wrote that. I think I actually stole that from Dork Tower.

I'd try to start some sort of "adventuriness," but I don't have a clue what I'd actually do. Ah well.

Yar, great to see you again! So you're who we owe the Mog's Special to! My vibrating nerves thank you, I think... smiley - winkeye

GDZ, enjoy your "me" time -- Everyone needs to recharge their batteries now and then, and it's always made me appreciate my peeps even more.

Good Doctor Zomnker (This must be Tuesday," said GDZ to himself, sinking low over his Dr. Pepper, "I never could get the hang of Tuesdays.")

I've had plenty of me time, unfortunately I have lots more tomorrow. What I need is "us" time with J. We'll get a little tonight but not nearly enough.

Yar, the IIEM has been moved from the Café to the Atelier, so feel free to order a 'usual'.

We also have a samovar, and Bluebottle to regularly put the kettle on, and Matina; baker extraordinaire of mbougatses.

Oh, and Chloe, but she's usually so discrete you hardly notice her while she's cleaning. Except for when she glows - don't remember the reason, but I think you might pay extra attention if she does.

I think there's information about that at the Offsite Atelier... Something about headphones and waistcoats.
