h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

Well even though I was 10 minutes late I still had to wait 20 minutes for the BP and weight check. Then another hour till I got to see the I know it's not the and who are at fault. It was a nice system they used to have when the clinic had their own rooms and set of nurses and receptionists. Now it's all centralised and the clinical rooms are used to the max by everybody the system seems a lot worse, for the staff and the patients. Oh well that's progress for you, at least the building is brand new.

There are lots of instances when 'progress' is actually a move backward and 'improved' definitely isn't. It generally helps the bottom line, I suppose.

My sinuses are infected, making me a grouch. I'm even taking a day of sick leave, which could turn into a half day depending on how I feel this afternoon.

I second what Phil said, Zomnker. No matter how much we love our family, it's nice to have a break from them now and then. After F retired the togetherness got to be too much. That's when I went back to work permanently.

It is going to be a work day for me. We have our summer reading kickoff today as well as the opening of a book fair. We're having carnival games and food, naturally. When don't I feed everyone? I suspect I have the largest food budget of any library in the state. If you feed them, they will come. Today is a very simple food event. Popcorn, hot dogs, peanuts, cold beverages. No desserts this time since the prizes for some of the games will be candy and Cracker Jacks.

Hyp, did you use that flouroscope thingy that I suggested to find all the better prizes in the Crackerjacks?
