This has been such a strange day...like I'm in another reality. I read for most of the day, and it took much longer than it should have, like time was speeding up, while I was slowing down. Also, had guilt pangs for not doing *something*.

I saw a 3-hour gap in the postings and I thought to myself, "Self, I bet they've just settled in with Clean Cups on the new Thread." Well, then, Self says, "Silly boy! Look at the last LED, and on up to the top o' the page. No call for Clean Cups yet. {And then he leaned in real sly-like and nudged me.} What? Were you feelin' the itch of Blue Mohair comin' up on ye?" So I looks back at 'im an' says, I do, "I do." An' 'e says t' me, "Whatcha frettin' 'bout? Ya's gotter Get Outta Blue Mohair Free card, ain'tcha?" Than I confides in 'im, I says, "Nossir. Not in a racoon's age, I ain't had'un." Then he guffaws, slaps his knee, and fairly falls o'er laughin' an' gasps out, "Gitchersel ready to be dressed, then, Laddy. It's onto a miss as it is!"

[Here's where I had to throttle him, because I really couldn't understand him. And what good is an alter ego if you can't even hold a decent conversation with him?]

In re: racoon's.

The Beeb evidently does not allow the euphemism that deals with "how long it's been since [something occurred]", using the shortened form of the animal's name.

Be forewarned.
It took me half-a-dozen tries to figure out which word wouldn't pass the netiquette filter.

Researchers also had difficulties discussing their Big Stripy Kitties from the Great State of Maine. In the meantime I got an EGE out of Cold Weather Adapted Cats. The filter isn't something I'll miss.

We'll find out if that has been fixed if I can post this.

Oh dear. I haven't been checking here for a few days; glad mini's in good hands, and other things are happening as well as they could.

One of the reasons I haven't been about is that I've been sleeping terribly. Not sure why; I'm just waking up way too early to be useful.

B4, that's because it's sometimes used as a racial slur and Auntie Beeb has decreed that if a word has an offensive meaning it must therefore be universally offensive and is banned. Even if there are other meanings which are not offensive and are evident from the context.

Yar, there are people whose diurnal rhythms don't seem to match the rest of the world. I worked for a fellow who had determined he operated on a 28-hour day, so he came to work four hours later every day, even when that meant working at night. He was an owner of the company, so he could get away with that.

Anyway, my point is, maybe you have trouble sleeping periodically because your internal clock is resisting the sun, if you know what I mean.

Well ... for one thing, I generally go to bed near 4 AM and am *supposed* to wake up around noon by that timeframe. It's not the timeframe that's the problem, it's the *amount* of sleep I seem to be getting ...
