So, took my car to a new mechanic today, and I LOVE these guys. The fixed the problem in half they time they quoted, and when they realized that the parts delivery wouldn't be for some time, one of the mechanics drove to the parts store to get them. They even do a AAA discount.

Really great place. It's hard to find a good mechanic, but I'm thrilled!

It's coming on a frog-strangler, as we don't say around these parts... Good timing, except that now I'll have to mow the lawn.

I really do miss my dreams. When I have a dream these days, it always seems to be an anxiety dream - can't find this, can't figure out how to do that. Once I dreamed that I was going to go running, but couldn't find the way out of the house - every door I opened led to another room. Another time I wanted to play bass with my honey, so I started looking for my notes, and couldn't find them. I kept looking, getting more and more anxious as I searched.

I used to have dreams about salt vampires and mysterious castles, or weird dragons, or fending off hordes of ravenous dogs. I don't know if my imagination is broken, or if it's just on hiatus.

We've just had a storm front that made it look and feel like late October. And now there's a rainbow and golden sunset light playing up the mammatus clouds.

*spots Amy has left some mufflewhumps, picks one up concentrates and it turns into a giant teddy bear, The tiny mouse hugs this tightly and wishes there was some company around to chat to*


Why do I have to be nocturnal? It means I don't get to spend any quality time with the friends who *are* back and also that I am still wide awake when the friends further afield are asleep. I have been in the flat myself since Sunday morning and by gosh is it empty and lonely. It is also windy this morning which isn't helping matters any as the front door keeps rattling and I keep hearing odd creaks and squeaks, I am rather a nervous person anyway, and am really not fond of being here myself for so long. I do suppose it is only 10 days until Phil and Flora get back from Germany and 11 days until Dave (my big brother for all intents and purposes) gets back from Leeds. But still it seems an awfully long time. I'm currently waiting for it to get light enough for me to walk to the 24 hour store and back for some chocolate, It will have to do in lieu of actual hugs for the time being I do wish that Dave had money to put credit in his phone as right now I could do with even a nice wee text saying it's all okay and it's not much longer until he gets back. I really am a tube sometimes.

MR, are your mechanics going to fix your trunk's lock?

Sorry mini had to go do some work . Yes , being in a house on your own can be a bit disconcerning . Where I am now [ on my own ] is several 100 years old and has an interesting history . With plenty of suicides and death . A lot of people find it spooky but I dont mind it at all .

No worries Tod. I have been doing some reading and am much calmer than I was earlier. According to my flatmate tis building used to be a mill, This being Dundee t'was probably a jute mill. It ha s clearly been a flat for quite some time though, you can tell from the high ceilings and cornicing.

Anyway, it is now 4.30am and about time I fell asleep.

Okay. Sleep didn't work. I am now up and dressed and going to head to the 24 hour store to get some Okay I may be a bit dead later, but really I don't care.

A retrospective for Mini. I was later than I meant to be last night, and woke up at 4:00 or so, which is annoying since I need to get motoring very soon and needed lots of sleep. Oh well.

I got a shiny new phone yesterday and now neither it nor my old phone are working. I'm not sure if that's because the signal is carp around here and carper in bad weather than good, or if it's because they are messing up the switchover between the Sims. And of course the help line doesn't open till 8:00. And there's lots of logistics this weekend. I'll just have to take my work phone with me.

Ignore me, I'm whiney.

I always feel safest out in early morning - there is no one else around.

I'm finishing nights now - we're in the soothing time when the admissions are calming down and we're sitting down.

Very exicited about finishing nights.

Last night we didn't have a storm, but the setting sun changed the colour the plums on my tree from pink to a tremendous magenta!

fg, I'm minding the pennies these days, because I don't get my first teaching paycheck until October 1st, but come then, absolutely. Reasonable, friendly, and quick? Oh heck yeah!
