Think as you like. I don't like weddings, and I don't want to ever tie myself to someone like that. I have too much to do in life to be encumbered like that.
Yup, I officiated a wedding because a good friend asked me to. I also stood by a good man twice because of our friendship. Doesn't make me like the things any better.

But do you not want to SHARE experiences, Marv?
To my mind, an experience shared gives twice the enjoyment!!!

There is a paint-ballin', gun-shootin', tech-savvy girl somewhere that's going to be very disappointed when her Mr. Right completely ignores her.

It's a typical monday, but it's going okay, considering.

No, it's more a scooter type thing: http://www.rammtlc.com/Products/pathfinder.php
Yeah, I know. Funky. But it works!

Happy birthday, Phil. It's the shell of a rare Glastonbury Conch. If you put your ear to it, you can hear music.
I think the kitchen appliance I would miss the most, were it to abandon me, is the dishwasher. But my favorite is the bread machine. And I'm limiting myself to electric appliances, otherwise the wooden spoon is definitely the clear winner. I have a particular wooden spoon that I love above all others.
You definitely have to trick that thing out, MR.

The microwave oven is one of the greatest kitchen appliances- that or the dishwasher, both fine labour saving devices. I'd have killed for a dishwasher when I was a student- I wouldn't wash up until every single bowl, plate and cup was dirty.
At least my egg incident only burned my foot- it turns out Scottish international football player Kirk Broadfoot wasn't quite so lucky: http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2009/may/15/kirk-broadfoot-egg-explosion-rangers

Okay, if we're talking appliances, I'm going to have to go with the MixMaster. Love that thing.
The one I'd like to have? A dishwasher.

If you read the instructions that come with micowave ovens, you are warned of this potential problem.
You CANNOT 'boil' eggs in a micowave, because of the possibility of explosion.
You CAN poach eggs in a microwave, as long as you pierce the yolk before starting to cook.
EASY!!!!!!

Marv, never say never. I completely understand not wanting to be 'encumbered' by another person... but sometimes the PITA is worth it for the side benefits.

Since all of you insist on going on and on about how wonderful your dishwashers are, could someone here please lend me one? I've got quite a few dishes to burn through and no motivation.

If I were on the other computer, I'd see if I could find what I said to Marv last night regarding the garter catching (Feel free to post it if you want, Marv--I have a sneaking feeling it wasn't saved on my end, unless Yahoo Chat saves sessions...)

Oh, and my dishwasher is currently using the other laptop
My current favorite appliance is the Medena Lactina I currently have on loan. OK, so I'm stretching the definition a bit, but it *does* prepare food for one family member, anyway

Here is the exchange Amy:
8:19:41 PM amy_p1: garter in your pocket, eh?
8:20:56 PM amy_p1: i can just see you sideswiped and protesting your undying bachelorhood all the way to the altar some year
8:21:51 PM Marv White: Nope
8:21:53 PM Marv White: won't happen
I stand by what I say. I just spent the evening with my favourite female in the world and I still feel the same way.
Key: Complain about this post
