Well, actually the bruise on my shin looks much worse today, but there is no appreciable swelling. It still hurts, but not so bad that I can't stand it. It just keeps me from sleeping well at the moment.
Note to self: Costa Rican liquor is bad for your head.

This is bizzare:
You scored higher than 60% on Beginner
You scored higher than 35% on Intermediate
You scored higher than 75% on Advanced
You scored higher than 97% on Expert
Which only goes to prove that Z is right - you need to study Latin in order to be competent in English.

Oh, , this makes more sense:
You scored 100% Beginner, 93% Intermediate, 100% Advanced, and 94% Expert!
That's better!

I forgot to put my scores.
You scored 86% Beginner, 100% Intermediate, 93% Advanced, and 66% Expert
I really thought I would have done better at that... Oh well.

I have to say I'm rather pleased with myself, knowing that my knowledge of English isn't the best, I got:
80% Beginner, 100% Intermediate, 93% Advanced, and 88% Expert!
Mind you almost all the knowledge I used in that test came from when I was home educated, (until aged 7). My parents always said that going to school was bad for your education, and I have to say I think that they were right.

Z going to school was bad for your education,Depends ,some schools you can learn how to assemble explosives, urban terrorist tacticts ,how to diss-assemble all sorts of things, what paints last on brick walls, the easiest way to get into all sorts of cars, all sorts of usefull things, and that only the junior(first grade us side?)

Happy Birthday, Joanna!

And that was Beeblefish I saw. Beebles! Come back here and say hello! Where have you been all these years??

Hypatia.
Council housing is indeed government housing provided by local governments.
It often comes in fairly large estates all across the U.K. I understand that the rent is cheaper than you would normally pay in private rented accommodation.
There is normally a waiting list to get in a council property, but it depends on area and the property.
Flats (apartments) at the top of tall blocks are normally easier to get as no one wants them, due to lifts (elevators?) breaking down a lot.

Happy Birthday, J'au!
Caer, I did a double take on your post...arguing with a guild leader over whether his leadership was democratic or not?
I was going to launch into a long, dry, boring discussion about the nature of guilds, and the completely non-democratic nature of the things (oligarchy is more like it), but then realized you were talking about a game.
And then I realized that guilds don't exist in your neck of the woods anymore.
And then I realized that prepping for my oral exams is making me nuts.

*POP*
Actually, a great book for semicolons is Eats, Shoots and Leaves by Lynne Truss, she is my favorite grammar-nazi and elogises the poor misunderstood semi-colon.
Oh, by the way, hi everyone, I'm Beeblefish, pleased to meet you.
*looks around*
Hey .. have I been here before, some of you look familar.
*shakes cotton out of head*

Newer salonistas, may I introduce you to Beeblefish, one of the earliest researchers at Hootoo, a charter denizen at the old Aroma Café, founder of the Irving Washington Book Nook, and salonista of yore. Oh, and a Canuck.
Beebles, there are many new salonistas here, but they are agreeable enough. You won't believe the pace of the backlog on a weekday.
