I suppose that last could use a bit of an explanation...

First off, it appears that, today at least, walking into room ** at M*** P****** Elementary renders my voice inaudible to students to whom I am giving directions, while keeping it perfectly audible to everyone else in the room. I hope it was just for today...

I also received some potentially disastrous news, which may be a false alarm, which I can do nothing about, especially while it's being determined whether it's a false alarm or not, which will impact our entire family. But I'm not to worry until we know if it's even something to worry about. Those that know me know how ridiculous that instruction is. Nothing to do with the pregnancy--Notepad's fine! I don't want to talk about it. I don't even want to think about it--in fact, I'm hoping Tom doesn't get home until after I go to bed so I don't have to tell himsmiley - erm

I'll think of an ornament later, when I'm not trying so hard not to think.

JJ! Welcome back!

I think we need 2 sets of those fuzzy pants Lil, unless other long lost souls reappear.

Lentilla (Keeper of Non-Sequiturs)

Howdy, Jade!

[Lentilla pulls out a springboard and jumps on it, executing a perfect somersault to the top of the tree, where she places the tree topper, a Death smiley - star from Star Wars. She completes the somersault and descends gracefully to the floor, performing a perfect landing, which is rather spoiled by her tripping over Ampton.]

Lil, I forgot to mention that I whipped up a huge pot of baked potato soup! It was smiley - drool worthy. Instead of ham, I fried up a pound of bacon and added it at the end. I think next time I'll use ham during the cooking process, and use bacon at the end for garnish. I also left in the skins, because I like the skins, but I think maybe not so much skin next time... texturally it isn't as yummy in soup as it is when it's dry.

For Thanksgiving this year, I made pumpkin gratin. Yummy and quite simple! One 15 oz. can of pumpkin, 3 eggs, cup of good cheese, half-pint of whipping cream, roasted garlic, salt and pepper. Blend in a food processor until whipped. Grease the baking dish, top with parmesan cheese, then bake at 425° for an hour, approx.

Montana Redhead (now with letters)

Hi again, JJ!

That pumpkin gratin sounds lovely. But I'm thinking it would be really good with more cheese. Of course, lots of things are better with more cheese.

I have a student paper that starts with a sentence that is half a page long. Not kidding. Sometimes, I despair.

That's just plain scary, MR. Although, having accidentally seen some of my classmates' papers, I can't say I'm surprised. One of them actually sent an e-mail to the entire class today saying she can't find any documentation for her final project and asking if she can borrow someone else's.

I weep for the future.

Hallo Jade, welcome back to active hootoohood! You need a smiley - stiffdrink, just ask Matina, the kitchenbot.

Ampton, you have selected a beautiful tall and symmetrical tree. I congratulate you on your taste. But would you mind calling back the nanobots? We need to put up the lights before any more ornaments go on. I think CLI have several hundred feet of braided optical fibre that could be used for a brilliant christmas light display. Can we use that?

*reaches for the back of a sofa as another dull crumping noise briefly shakes the salon* Garius, I'm so glad you're back. I feel safer already.

Wow, looks like I'm not so original, after all. Hi everybody!

I just happened to be killing some time on the web and thought I ought to drop by and say hello to you all.

Things are good for me, hope the same is true for all of you. I've missed coming here, and the friends I made on h2g2 - coming back makes me wonder why I ever left... smiley - smiley

Hello sea and Jade!

I remember being here when I was thirteen. Aww.

I have begun to ctrl+v automatically when I want a full stop. That's a bit weird.

It appears that tonight is another non-sleeping night. That means you getrandom trivia while I try to occupy myself. It's nearly five in the morning, how can I not be sleepy? This isn't fair!
The doc has given me happy pills to stop the migraines. Apparently they also have a soporific effect so if I take them in the evening they should sort my sleep patterns out. Right now, I'd settle for having a sleep pattern.

Hmm, tree decorations...My instinct is to put nicely-framed dangerous chemicals up, but that could be a bad idea. I know!
*rummages around in their satchel, coming up with four bundles of tissue paper. The paper is unwrapped to reveal four dragon ornaments. They are made from twisted wire in every shade from silver to copper and are about a hand wide from wingtip to wingtip. Carefully arraged on the tree, they appear to be playing tag.*
I made these while I was working out how to filigree myself.
