GL, Sea, JJ! It's been a banner week for the salon. If PWM and Amy came back it would be amazing.

Wow, that's a great tree, Ampton! I just happen to have my very favorite ornament here, my little embroidered aqua satin elephant...bought when I was seeking pretties for my tree which wouldn't shatter at the paws of felines.
*blinks* So great to see you, sea! JJ, I don't recall you from before, so I'm very pleased to meet you.
GDZ, I'm beginning to believe you might be just the teensiest bit clairvoyant -- wasn't it you who predicted a possible need for spare pairs of the itchy blue trou?

Glides in, circles the tree warily, buzzes the star to check if it's edible, nope, settles on top of the star to contemplate life in general and watch out for any sign of breakfast below.
Mornin All Hi sea and JJ, dark and cold this morning, minus half a degC, had to defrost the car windscreens, is it winter?

The blue fuzzy troos are definitely being passed around - first Garius, then Deamon Drawer, then Jedi Jade, and then sea!
Runescribe, those dragons are awesome!
I'm not sure if I said it already, but it does feel as if we're having a proper winter this year, not just a colder darker (I would say wetter) summer.
*carefully hangs a decorated eggshell on the tree - it's has a tail added at one end and a nose added at the other and fins in the middle and looks like a fat and happy fish*
I wish I'd found out more about that tree ornament - my ma always called them "the Polish tree decorations" and I suspect they're 60+ years old. They're certainly over 50.

Mornin' WA - and everyone else, especially Salon returnees.
To Marv's list I'd add eatsmice and Caerwynn.
Have a Amy P. Whatever it is, I hope it turns out ok.
Are the lights up on the tree yet?
I'll be hanging a swarovski crystal snowflake this year and watching the light sparking off it as it rotates gently in air currents.
mini Are you revising?
The Towers is gradually becoming a bit more organised; I managed to offload a pile of unwanted furniture yesterday.
Half way through attempting to deal with one of the boxs from Mount Incessant Junk, I got sidetracked by a load of framed photos which I haven't seen since we moved here eight years ago.

STRANGELY STRANGE ( A brain on a spring ) Posted Dec 11, 2008
I hope no one minds but is it ok if I put the pipe my late Dad used to smoke on tree?
.
I would put a glass of Teachers whiskey he loved but it might spill and the bird drink it ,lol!

*hangs a small sailing ship, made in half a walnut shell, on the tree*
FG, you beat me to it - had Puttin' in the Fritz all lined up... ...
(except I had "If you're goo" obviously
Hi Jade Did we ever cross postings? Anyway, welcome back! (btw, I'm 45 and probably not quite grown up )
>*There's a muffled whump sound and the floor shakes a little.*
... errr, it's not a certain cleaning robot making underground noises, right?
for Amy! And for Ben's talk, dangerous or not!
sea? *collapses into a sofa in surprise* Matina, can I have a to go with all these reappearances, please?

minichessemouse - Ahoy there me barnacle! Posted Dec 11, 2008
umm, does someone who actually knows the returnees want to help me with my scribing? I think returneees started appearing around post 1800, so if anyone wants to take 1800-1900 and properly explain the importance of our returning salonistas then let me or lil know.

The bird might well drink it, but would much prefer a very old Macallan.

I like the ram, Titania. How did the ram come to be a traditional Swedish Christmas thing?
I will go and choose a suitable decoration...
Hello to all returnees. I'm afraid I'm relatively new (2005, I think), so I don't remember any of you.

Christmas is a perfect time for the reappearances of old friends. Hi sea. And I must have missed DD's appearance. Must go back and hunt it. Welcome back.
Where is BB? He breezed in briefly a few weeks back then vanished again. Also, we need for Affy to come in andn hang an ornament on the tree.
Lentilla, that pumpkin gratin sounds delish.
*worries about Amy*

It would be nice to have the Professor drop by, too.
It think Caer scaled back her online presence quite a bit.
I have my ornament ready, but I will wait for the lights before I hang it.

*hangs a small ornate frame on the tree, that looks empty at first glance, but as you let your eyes blur, the painting inside shows up to be your favourite piece of art*
This is my first christmas in the salon. Hello to all returnees, i hope you stay around.
The tree is perfect, Ampton. Thank you, Garius, for arranging that for the salon.
Matina, may i have an eggnog, please?

Hypatia Posted Dec 11, 2008
We all had a first Christmas in the salon, lml. Just make sure it isn't your last.
While we're waiting for the lights to be strung on the tree, I would like to raise a glass (checks clock...make that a cup of tea) to new friends, returning friends and absent friends -- especially those with sand in their shoes. And of course to everyone who has been here all along. Group hug. 'Tis a special place, is Lil's.
