I thought we'd been particularly quiet today and then I realised I'd unsubbed the convo
You scrub up well, David
Rings - a gold celtic band that belonged to MiL and is my wedding ring, my engagement ring a cluster of small diamonds also gold. On my right hand I have a cheap and cheerful silver ring with hearts cut into it.
I'm also a sucker for cheap thin bangles and wear around sixty of them at a time (split between both wrists). I have a very small nose stud and several pairs of earrings although usually only have a small gold hoop through one of the holes in my left ear - the children at school are often asking where the other one is, I tell them my husband wears it...

On the Mexican, whoo-ooh, internet...
> Titanium is also used to make dental implants
I would love to have a titanium ring. My little gold one is great, because it doesn't get caught on anything, but it's a bit plain. Titanium doesn't scratch - but you can't adjust the band if it's too tight, either.
> I have a very small nose stud
that must be heck when you catch colds...

Not really, Lentilla, it's 'L' shaped so doesn't stick out (the best sort I've ever found). The only problem is that they are so small and sometimes the tiny jewel drops off and the place where the jewel was sometimes get stuck in the piercing. Well, they're cheap enough to buy several at once so I always have a spare.

I'll grab this subject and run with it then, shall I?
I have two piercings: one in my left earlobe, one in my right. That's all.

Both my ear lobes are pierced - one hole each - and I have a cartilage piercing in my right ear. No tatoos yet, but give it time.

FG and I have identical piercings, though mine usually stand empty.

I find dissolvable paracetamol hot water and lemon squash is exactly the same as lempsip - because that's what it is.
All cold cures are basically Paracetmol (acetimorphine) and a bit of caffine.
The more expensive ones are a waste of money.
I have finished feeling like rubbish today. Because we had the ward round from hell - due to being a horrible weekend with it being winter - and the early nights bring hypothermina and pneumonia. Usually we start the ward round at 9, finish about 12, and then get on with the things that we've decided to do.
9am Start ward round
10.30 Crash call - unsuccessful - break bad news - go back to ward round.
12.00 arrange for friend to hold crash bleep from 1400 when clinic starts
13.40 - stop ward round to get some food before clinic.
13.50 - get food - am about to pay and eat when - yes another crash call.
1500 - finish breaking bad news to relatives.
Go back to clinic - running late. Fortunately I manage to do most stuff ok.
1700! Actually finish clinic on time. Thanks to people not turning up. My last patient is only seen 20 minutes late - which isn't too bad really.
Go back to ward round -
19.00 Finish ward round.
19.00 - 2200. Emergency cover. And try and do jobs off the ward round. Cheer myself up by putting a chest drain in.
PS I've changed the times a bit - so I hope it doesn't give away confidenital information.

Could you think about getting stocked up with a couple of spares, mini? I have at least four on the go - handbag, sports bag, bedside table and brand new unopened in medicine cupboard. Thankfully, I rarely need to use them these days.
Busy day, Z. Are they all like that?
The problem with cold remedies which contain caffeine is that they stop me sleeping so not only do I feel carp, I get to lie awake most of the night, dwelling on feeling carp.

Sources say that if they explode, it could spell disaster.

ps - Meant to say that our Singing Librarian Owl looks just as dashing in real life - although one doesn't usually see him wearing a hat or toting a kit bag around with him

He does look rather dapper, doesn't he?
Meant to mention that I made pumpkin soup in the pumpkin t'other night... Basically I ended up roasting the pumpkin, then having to finish the soup on the stove. Now I have a whole bunch of cooked pumpkin with what was left of the soup mixed in... sheesh.
Now I think I'll make a pumpkin gratin - which is basically eggs, heavy cream, cheese, salt, pepper, and butter, all mixed up and baked for 35 minutes. I've got a lot of pumpkin to play with, so here we go... I think I could make a pumpkin gratin in a half-baked pumpkin, but I'll experiment with making the gratin first, just so I won't mess it up!

Oh, and as for cold remedies, give me several hot cups of Red Zinger Celestial Seasonings tea. I like hot tea for colds, but the amounts I have to drink get me all hyped up on caffeine, and with a cold, I really like to sleep. Red Zinger is a wonderfully mellow blend of hibiscus and other such stuff, and makes a great sicky tea.

I love Red Zinger tea!
I have multiple bodmods. Six holes in my ears...three on the right lobe, two on the left, and one way up top on the left. And 7 tats.

minichessemouse - Ahoy there me barnacle! Posted Nov 18, 2008
my ears are pierced, but i cant wear earrings for any lenth of time as i get really bad exema behind my ears when i do and it doesnt seem to matter what metal it is. I have a tatoo, but it is on my left eyeball, and it has been there since i was about a year old, also you cant see it, but it is there.
i will phone the doctor about inhalers tomorrow, dont know how they will react though, have registered with them , but have not been to the surgery or anything yet, sure they will be able to sort me out. I dont need it too often, but given the time of year i would rather have it just in case.

Absolutely no holes in me other than what nature itself has provided - well, the ones that have been there such as for banging head into hard stuff has been carefully sewn up and healed
Now that the Tell us a Joke thread has been aired, just a few posts back up there was this one that I loved:
According to Freud, what is between fear and sex ?
Fünf.
Being picked up short after 7 am tomorrow, so if you'll excuse me, I'll finish my presentation-preparation and go crash
