I never needed glasses until I went to grad school. Three years in, bifocals. I'm still resisting. I won't go down without a fight.
D, on the other hand, got them at the beginning of this summer, just having turned 8. She inherited her father's eyes, so perhaps she should be glad they've been able to whittle down those coke bottle lenses, eh?
Throughly creepy guy at work last night. I mean the creepy waves coming off him made me want to take a shower. Ew.
I think Sandra Bullock is a man because she's got an enormous adams' apple. Larger than a lot men I know.

The snow is coming down pretty heavily now, I'm about to take the dogs for a walk in the park. We currently meet two of the 3 conditions for blizzard, temperature and snowfall. The winds should pick up tonight (the weatherman says we are due for a bombogenesis. Neat word) making it an official blizzard.
Since it is snowing and I am essentially trapped in the house, I got industrious and cleaned my oven. If this had been a normal Saturday and I wasn't trapped in the house, I would have sat around reading or watching tv all day.

I'm back from my walk.
There were a couple of times I couldn't see, the snow blew into my eyes so quickly that as soon as blinked I was nearly blinded again. I fell and bumped my elbow - there will be bruise - but the dogs had a great time and are now sleeping it off.

A good day, relaxing, and effective.
I have bought some material to make a skirt to wear to a Do. Black with shocking-pink metalic 
s on it. It looks like devore from a distance of 10 ft, and it drapes like a dream.
The shop is posting me the pattern so I can get stitching next weekend. Hopefully the result will say 'I can do sophisticated, but fun is more fun'. 
Now... accessories...

I got a pair of very weak prescription distance glasses for a 20th birthday present. I only need them to see the chalkboard in some very large lecture classes, and to drive at night when all the headlights get kind of blurry. I'm hoping that by only using them when absolutely necessary, I can delay the need for them all the time. Both of my parents got the same prescription glasses on the same day when they turned 40. They had been 20/20 before.

I was supposed to have today off. Wrong. Oh well. I now have a shiny new desk inside my shiny new office inside my shiny new building. Plus, I got to bully someone. And the seating for the prefunction area is here. As well as the tables for the conference room.
Ahem....d'E. When the snow is so bad that the dogs need snorkles, it's time to stay inside and make cocoa. Please tell me you have a picture of the boys in the snow.
I have a dying 
. It's muy oldest. She's been chronically ill for most of her life. This time, I'm letting nature take it's course rather than traumatize her with more vets. She doesn't seem to be suffering.
