Good Doctor Zomnker (This must be Tuesday," said GDZ to himself, sinking low over his Dr. Pepper, "I never could get the hang of Tuesdays.") Posted Jan 22, 2005
Just home from my sister-in-law's birthday party. Geez, it's hard to type when you're drunk. I had a bit more to drink than I intended. It's all good though.
The Grizz won? Wow! The Jazz also traded their loser Point Guard, Utah appears to be having a somewhat good day.
I'll stop rambling now, I'm going to bed.

I once had the delight of sitting a few feet away from Daniel Day Lewis doing a rather splendidly fraught impression of a young man going quietly mad in Hamlet. I don't think I've ever been so tense/nervous.
Method actor that he is of course, that was about a week before he had a screaming breakdown...
I'm sure I've told that story before. Oh well.
*very quietly* I had actually volunteered to be scribe next convo. What, you can't hear me? Oh well...
Not sure of the name of the mag, Phill. Deary me that sounds odd. Still, I'll let you know when I do...
I look astonishingly like both sides of my family, so no doubt about my ancestery. But my formal wedding photos caught me out with a powerful look of my Mum's, which up until then I didn't think I did. It means 'I am uncomfortable and want this to stop.' Ah me.
Had an amusing experience yesterday. B was selling something computery on ebay and I had the task of giving it to the lucky winner. So there I am on a dark street in London outside a tube station handing over an unmarked package to a chap in exchange for cash. Suddenly we both looked at each other and realised how didgy it must look and hurridly scuttled off in opposite directions...
Off to pick up Mother in Law from Brother in Law in about half an hour. Did I mention she has arrived from Moscow? Not sure where I'm taking her yet. Sun seems to be out, so a wonder in the park might be nice.

Good grief a 103 postings since yesterday?
B, I sam glad you gave the explaination for the bruise fairy's visit, because that was the one that leapt to my mind too.
Twelfth Night is my favourite, but it was the first of Shakespeare's plays I was introduced to at school and know it pretty well. I have to confess to never having seen a production of The Dream on stage. We saw Sean Bean in MacBeth, that was excellent.
Welcome Hnicky, fear the backlog! I certainly do
With the new SW film, we are bracing ourselves for a new influx of players in the online game. A good thing though, as a lot of the old hands are threatening to go over to World of Warcraft.
I hate wearing specs and have done since I was 10, although I do try to wear them one day a week. I have more or less avoided reading glasses by using monovision lenses, i.e. one is weak enough to allow me to read without specs. I use daily disposables and they are brilliant.
Cassie caught a indoors yesterday! I am trying to convince myself it's one she brought in earlier and had mislaid.

I personally think that everyone who visits London should go on the London Eye. Check http://www.ba.co.uk to book online (worth booking ahead, you pick up the tickets from the machines) the queues move quickly, and you get to see just about everything all in half an hour. The river cruises are good value, but they double the cost.
Ormy, I gave you the wrong address - [email protected].

Phew. Caught up at last. Not going online for a day does play havok with keeping up here.
I really must get back into wearing contact lenses this summer (daily disposables are top!) but then again I do now have a pair of prescription sunglasses still the contacts are great for swimming in, not worrying about losing my glasses or being unable to see without them.

London Eye? Fab and definitely something to do if in London on a fine day.
I've worn glasses since my early thirties when I learned to drive and they became essential to road safety and the well-being of my fellow citizens.
Having realised what the world really looked like, I continued wearing them all the time.
I have daily contact lenses for occasional use - ceilidhs and the like where my glasses get steamed-up with the exertion of dancing. But lenses are no use for wo*k - I would have to wear protective goggles as well which get fankled-up in my mask so glasses are actually easier for me.
I just need to find a pair which make me look 20 years younger and twice as gorgeous .
Dear Mr T has offered me a wonderful birthday present - gym membership + a personal trainer for a few sessions to get me started. Time to get my flabby ar*e dealt with - and possibly give me some more energy and fitness. My 77yr old mother is far fitter than me!

Thanks Teuchter
Phew, no longer 30. What a relief.
Welcome Hnicky
Right, having finished my brekkie in bed, I am now off to play with the doggies before all my friends arrive at half twelve. I'll be off line until sunday now so try not to generate too much backlog for my to-be-hungover brain

for Kelli. Knowing me, it probably consists of hand-knitted socks in seriously weird colours.
S says happy birthday too. He's peeling a satsuma in his dressing gown, over there in Lurker's Corner.

Happy Birthday, Kelli!
Now, I'm off to batten down the hatches in preparation for the blizzard headed this way. The flurries have already started.

dElaphant (and Zeppo his dog (and Gummo, Zeppos dog)) - Left my apostrophes at the BBC Posted Jan 22, 2005
/* Steps into the linen closet, emerging a few moments later wearing rubber boots and carrying a snow shovel, followed by Zeppo (au naturel) and Jersey Gummo wearing a tiny parka and a snorkel */
We are ready for the blizzard too.
Since I don't wear glasses, I suppose that makes me young and foolish. I shall never wear glasses.
Happy birthday, Kelli!
