May the new year be a happy and prosperous one for all of you!
*suddenly realizes that she's not sure what 'prosperous' means (but it sounds like a good thing!), or if she even spelled it correctly*
*drifts off towards library to check it up*

Am I the last to have a new year? Well, then, so be it. Happy New Year all!
FG, I've got some military issue earplugs. That ought to be enough!!!

So this is 2005. I started the year (from this side of the night) with walking dog and doing laundry.

Happy new year everyone I hope 2005 brings good cheer, good health amd good sex
to all
2004 was an ok year for me, I settled in to the new house, changed jobs so I could stop travelling, got engaged to the man I love, made a tv show, lost (some) weight and gained two beautiful pups. My friends are all happy and healthy, as is my family. I found and happily settled into the atelier
For 2005, lose the rest of this weight, get married, train my pups to be good dogs, don't start smoking again, make more friends in my village.
I started the year making friends with some of the neighbours that we haven't talked to much. Next door's dog ran off, frightened by the fireworks at midnight and we were all out looking for her. The young couple from further up the road came in of a wee drinkie afterwards, good to meet them properly

Best wishes for everyone for this brand sparkling new year.
*looks out the window*
Not that sparkling - grayish, actually...
But new at least
As to the wishes - can I make a humble wish for more good sex without the ?
*starts pondering what else to wish for now one of the more important ones is on the list *

Nothing like starting the New Year with a .
I should probably go out for a walk, but I am shattered, and will go back to bed instead, I think. The annoying thing is that the last time I had a drink was on the 29th. Hmmmm.
On a more cheerful note, I have lost about 5 of the 10lbs I have put on since the Winter Solstice, and am feeling a wee tadlet more cheerful about loosing the next 5.
Though I still find the thought of the the next 30 rather daunting. *sigh*.

No new year's resolutions for me. I never keep them anyway.
I have a pleasant day planned for myself. A lot of the new seed catalogs are here. So, I shall begin planning my veggie garden. Graph paper is at hand. Pencils. Eraser. Ruler. Measuring tape for the garden. The design has to be perfect because this is the year that I ~finally~ get to put in my permanent raised beds.
I had a darling plan a couple of years ago, but F was being a real stinker about the raised beds and the unusual design. He was definitely of the old school of gardening.....double digging...straight rows....wide paths. Now, I will do exactly as I please. What is it they say about every cloud having a silver lining?

Happy New Year, everyone! I nearly forgot to light the ritual bayberry candle, but started burning it at about 11:30. It's still going, with not a single drip.
Why do people shoot at the New Year? Or are they euthanizing the old one? In any case, 2005 seems to have come through with no holes in it.
My friend and I watched Sixth Sense and then Terry Gilliam's Baron Munchhausen. It was a mild night, so, after cleaning up the kitchen, I stood outside for a few minutes at the turn of the year and listened to the ordinance.
Titania, prosperity is an excellent thing to wish on other people. May you all enjoy a prosperous 2005!

Wot she said
New Year was fun, I really enjoyed the club we went to and Brighton is a lovely city. We had to wait for the first train to get back to A's flat in Worthing, as the train that would get me back to Birmingham with one change was leaving at the same time, I decided to go for that so I could sleep on the train.
Unfortunately it was one of those British Rail Epic jounrey's the sort where trains turn into buses for no discerable reason, where you have to wait for an hour in the freezing cold at stations without waiting rooms, or coffee shops. So I didn't get to sleep on the train, and staggered into my flat at 11.30 am, after only two hours sleep the previous night.

The New Year brings about a foot of snow to my house.
HAd a party, the turnout was light (due to the storm that hit SLC last night) but I was able to have a few drinks with friends. Now I need the last vestiges of this hangover to go away and I will be fine.

Day 1 of the New Year...not bad, all things considered.
I'm trying to figure out one or two more classes to add to my list of classes for college this semester. Wish I had more than three days before I head back....this break isn't long enough....

Sorry, I'm skipping most of the backlog as I'm still dead tired from the effects of jet-lag. It's funny that. I tend to run on Ontario's version of EST when I'm living in the UK, so you'd have thought that I could have stepped straight off the plane with no ill effects.
I guess having only an hour or so's kip between 7am (EST) on the 30th and 11pm (GMT) yesterday might have something to do with still feeling tired. As it was I didn't quite make it to the new year, I cried off and went to bed where I stayed until just before kick-off at 3pm (we lost 2-0 )
And Z, I hope you remembered to wave out of the right-hand side of the train as it pulled out of the station. Mine is the house on the other side of the valley that looks like it is being attacked by some green monster ie my neighbours ivy/triffid cross breed.

My first day of the new year has gone swimmingly, with the exception of forgetting that my ATM card expired...oops. Good thing I was able to write a check!

Day 1 progressing smoothly. Hopefully, everyone in town will be too busy recovering to head to my place of gainful employment before I leave in about half an hour. An easy, slow night is what I need right now.
Get better soon, Z.
I'm about to beg my councellor to see if some strings can be pulled to get me into a waitlisted class. I just realized that I can't put it off for a year if I'm to get into the Jazz Band class next year.

Hey, the new year timed out pretty well. 1000 is normally when you think about a new thread, right Lil? How long till the convo change?
Think I'll try my luck at that FTTF prize. Never got it before. Closest I ever got was that one time that I won the first ever AFTTF award.
