good to hear LP's surgery went well!
So, remember that tax thing I was telling you about, how someone lifted my employment ID number and filed taxes using it (and got money, mind you)? Well, turns out it had nothing to do with my X and the military...there are currently 19 grad students at my uni who have had this happen. Given that the IRS only had 80 thousand cases last year, out of some 300 million tax filers, this is serious.
The federal investigators are on the case!

MR, it's terrible that there's such an epidemic at the University, but on the other hand, it seems like it will increase everyone's chances of getting their refund. The IRS will be more willing to believe what's going on, methinks.

Sounds like an inside job, a uni employee with access to the social security numbers. All the IRS has to do is trace where the refunds went to and they'll have the perp.

Problem is, Witty, the inside man (or woman, frankly) sold them to someone, it appears, since the majority of us had our taxes filed for us in Texas.
The IRS has been great, but what a pain!

So is everybody slaughtering lambs for Easter? What, no bunnies?
I planned on making rabbit mole for Easter this year, but I have yet to buy the rabbits, so it looks like it won't happen. (Mole sauce is Mexican chocolate sauce, btw)

Today, snow.
The first snow to stay for more than a couple of hours this winter.
Just enough for a couple of .

Good to hear that LP's surgery went well.
Snow forecast for here today, we'll see, it's very sunny and bright at the minute.

It was more rain than snow here yesterday, but we've had the horizontal flurries this morning. Went to the Good Friday service yesterday, and G aquired a Series III Land Rover.
After being in and out of work all year, I'll be interested to see how far over the earnings threshold for tax I actually got in the last tax year.
*Waves to Saints*.

There was a little snow on the ground here an hour ago, but it's almost melted now.

It does snow here but somehow like it doesn't really mean to...
Going to a concert tonight - I got the tickets as a present TV-2, Danish "most boring band" as they say themselves - their following in the last Bob knows how many years seem to tell a different story.

IRS and great usually don't go together very well. Not unless the sentence is a negative one.

We've just had our snow.
I had just placed the eggs for the egg hunt, it went dark. I urged the boys outside to find the eggs and it started to snow (all of five minutes). The sun is now shining like a thing shines. Buggar.

Good to know that LP's surgery went well -- please let her know, if you can, that we all wish her a speedy recovery!
I have company all weekend -- weather clear dry and warmish in the day. Fruit trees are blooming, hummies can't be far behind!

I hope your situation gets resolved quickly, MR.
I'm going over to my sister-in-law's house for Easter dinner. She's told everyone they don't have to contribute anything; she's got it all taken care of, from soup to nuts. I don't know what's on the menu, though. I hate to say it--and don't you guys tell anyone I said this--but she's a middling cook. Everything's out of a box from, once again, soup to nuts.

I've been wandering Headingley's charity shops today, in between getting blasted by wind and snow. I picked up the News Chronicle Song Book (dunno when it's from, but it includes "God Save the King", which makes it at least 56 years old), Flashman's Lady, a 200 games compendium (yeah, it has a pack of cards, a double-sided draughts/backgammon board, six dice, a bunch of black and white counters and then a rulebook describing umpteen variations on each. There's also some rubbishy promotional game thrown in), and a quiz game based on quotations. I took the latter back when I discovered it had no rules.
Anyway, if Lil hasn't seen through her threat to lock the piano I'm going to try "The British Grenadiers".

There is snow here. Hurrah! Well, I say snow. I actually mean some very, very small flakes drifting down in a half-hearted fashion. Cold dandruff more than snow, but still.
I will pass good wishes on to LP when I can.
