Wouldn't dream of it, after all you only have 6lbs of turkey each and wouldn't want to see you go short, lol!
.
I put out nuts and soaked dried fruit for birds and unsurprisingly a Squirrel, White Ears, is pinching most of nuts and burying in lawn!

Roast chicken here, with Dai's home made simple stuffing. Accompanied by maple syrup glazed sweet potatoes/ parsnips and squash, and brussels sprouts with chestnuts and crumbled crisped parma ham. And I'm about to make some sort of sauce with the giblet stock.

So far I have eaten panettone (by the door-stopper wedge), smoked salmon on a bagel, smoked beef on a slice of toast, and a bowl of mushroom soup. We are slow-roasting half a shoulder of lamb, have been for hours, will do for more hours. I suppose we'll eat it eventually. I really ought to eat some fruit before I go completely mouldy myself.
It's raining, and has been all day. No chance of a decent walk. S and I are therefore in separate rooms of the house playing with various gadgets, and only speaking to each other when food is involved, and it is WONDERFUL. I have never been so relaxed on Christmas Day before.
Best wishes to all of you and your yummy dinners.

I'm going to have a bite of everyone else's dinner, and wash it down with Lentilla's Christmas witchery. It all sounds so yummy.
I made rugelach two days ago. The recipe was really easy and the results were scrumptious. I took the whole batch (minus my quality control taste test of three rugelach) to Christmas Eve dinner with family last night and I gave all of them away. Now I really wish I held a few back for Christmas morning breakfast.
Someone really needs to remind me to stop being generous.
Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas!
I slept very late and had a 2-hour phone conversation with a dear friend in Florida. Now it's time for a long hot bath with the boombox playing Palestrina, and then I'll be hacking meat off the prime ribs so I can start the soup.
THEN I will turn my attention to reviewing the backlog. New thread may not happen today, but youse guys are too full of food to be running anywhere anyway, right?

I cooked the apple and red cabbage receipe that FG found and very nice it is too. However I am not a great follower of quantities so might be exactly as receipe but mine had a nice Christmassey taste with cinemon and nutmeg.

I went to church today for Parish Communion at local Church of England Church. It was odd as haven't been to a proper Church service for around 40 years since I used to sing in a choir for one and thrupence a week!
I was a strange feeling all this religeon lark. First of all I sat at front to side but a procession with a cross and a load of people in Church type cloths so got a bit nervous and went and sat at back. It turns out that most of people were actually in the choir! I sat at back as all that bread and wine thing is a bit to heavy and soon for me.
It was actually quite enjoyable and realised the Church has a female vicar. She did this interesting thing of getting people to pass a present to each other during her sermon and open a layer of wrapping paper each time. She described each layer as having a differant meaning with one layer being ordinary birthday paper so people should remember Christmas is actually about a birth. The female vicar sounde quite approachable and easy going which is good. I am thinking about maybe going back sometime to an ordinary service without the Christmas Carols which were great today. However if I am forced to do the old bread and wine thing I am not so sure, although today it was optional so no reason to think it won't be at other times. I got a bit of a scare when the priest was heading towards me at back of church with wine and bread but she was actually going to a disabled person at back not me as I hadn't gone to alter for it!

We ended up not doing dinner with the neighbors, as I'm still sick, but they brought us tamales, and D made me tea and gave me cookies. It has been a necessarily mellow day, and I've enjoyed it.

Lovely day today. Can't exactly say it was a quiet one--after all, Faith's 4 and received a keyboard with a microphone as one of her presents
Had a small ham, a smoked turkey breast, mashed taters, gravy (cheated--bought the gravy), baby carrots, sugar snap peas and baby corn cobs with olive oil, garlic, and thyme, and the sausage stuffing I posted in Ask about And a 2 layer 'Happy Birthday Jesus' cake (very proud of myself--white with lemon curd filling, and did a decent job frosting it). And a coconut custard pie. I have a sweet potato pie in the freezer, but Tom's mom already had her pie in the oven when she called to see if she could bring anything, so... The fridge is just about as stuffed as the humans
*takes some of the mulled cider*
Merry Christmas, everyone!
