After seeing Billy Bantam, I'm picturing our little chicken lovin' friend from the morality quiz trying to cook him!
I too appreciated your reference, Coely. I now have a clear picture of "wet".

I'm saddened that you didn't bother to reply to my earlier post Coely.

Sometimes a chicken is just a chicken... My darlin' hubby is short of stature and tall of ego. Perhaps it comes with being short. I like it - I can be strong-willed myself and it's good to have somebody that will stand up to me.
Coely - that Molesworth quote reminded me of trying to read In His Own Write and A Spaniard In The Works - that same kind of twisted mangled English that makes sense, but only if you don't think about it.
Dave hasn't replied to any of my posts at all! I'm so hurt! (Oh, look, here's dave's leg again...)

Enjoy the trip Marv!
Skipping out of work was rather fun. Everyone knew about it so, I had quite the audience.

Bleugh.
'Tis that time of year again. I have endured the first week of the fall semester. And as I told one of my classes earlier, somewhere along the line I woke up and I was a senior. I'm STILL trying to figure out how that happened...
This means I graduate in May (*knocks on wood*) and have to enter the - *gasp* - /real world/.
...I'm frightened...

OK all, this should be my last post before I leave for my trip. It's 2145 right now and I have to be up at 0400 in order to meet my pastor at 0500 to start the trek to the Snake River in Southwestern Wy. I'm mostly packed, and really jumpy. I've never been to this area nor done this type of rafting before.
Make as much backlog as you like in the intermediate time, but try to not swamp me too badly. I am gone for at least two possibly three days.
I will try to take lots of piccies of the trip, which will end up on my swerver.

Let me be the firs to say: Good luck with the backlog Marv!
I talked with the ex tonight, my son is having some responsibility issues at school, so I called her to talk about them. She thinks, and she could be right, that maybe the fact that it's been 5 weeks since he saw her that maybe that is why is acting the way he has been so, he will be staying with her saturday night. I don't think that is the case however. C's mother and older brother are both ADHD. I will be having C tested this upcoming week to see if he also has it.
A is staying with my mother saturday night so, for the first time in several weeks, I have a night to myself. I am thinking of taking in a couple of the movies I have yet to see i.e. Harry Potter.

I didn't get a chance to read the back log last night, sorry! I hope I haven't missed any traumas or dramas, but if I have you know I'm always on your side with a when needed.
We move into Phase 2 of the South Beach Diet, fruit, nuts and 'good' carbs are reintroduced and we stay on this until reaching our target weights. But if we have a slip up, we just go back to Phase 1 unitl we lose any extra lbs. I am really looking forward to some fruit .
*waves to Marv's departing back*
Have a good time.

[Munchkin]
Driving through Glasgow last night, having picked up my car from the garage, it was, typically, raining. So my windscreen wipers were going ten to the dozen when the driver's side one poinged off and flew across the road. I hastily pulled in, ran back a bit, picked it off the road, jammed it back on the wiper spindle and drove off again, happy as Larry. Old cars are great. Still, I'm glad I didn't take the motorway home.
This, though, means I have a fully functioning car for next weeks holiday of pottering around the countryside stopping at interesting locations. Weee.

Coely, my groan about the oddly spelt English in your quote was intended to be made with -in-cheek, but I guess I should have added some more smilies, because checking back I realize my posting came across as rather grumpy - or something...

Sorry for lowering the tone a wee bit but B's remark about handy pipe-stoppering tools and Tesco's made me remember two jokes off the "Tell us a joke thread" - of which I can only find the one:

And it seems that I must stand corrected - Lynne Truss indeed seems to be British English (and according to the wee punctuation play quiz on the E, S & L website, I'm a 83% stickler
