Well, the minor temporal anamoly is still with us and "Just Now" may be a thing of the past. Thus, in keeping with the oddity we're experiencing, I thought it only fitting to label it and liven things up a bit. Gotta poke a little fun at it to see if it responds.
The Time Warp [excerpt from R*cky H*rr*r P!cture Sh*w]
[Chuckie Gray, he's okay, but he's got not eff'n neck!]
Dr Charles Gray:
It's just a jump to the left.
Transylvanians:
And then a step to the ri-i-ight.
Chuckie Gray:
With your hands on your hips.
Transylvanians:
You bring your knees in ti-i-ight.
But it's the pelvic thru-uh-uh-ust
That really drives you insa-a-a-a-a-ane.
Let's do the time-warp again.
Let's do the time-warp again.
Oh, you'd never know how I used to spend my weekends when I was young and impressionable, would you? [Hint: I was part of the Tech Crew, handling lights, props, make-up, and cajoling the audience to follow along with the "inserted" lines.]

Oh. One other thing. For those of you who've read the HHGTTG series and thus found this site such a welcome haven, I have a small treat for you.

Let me know what you think of it, if you would. You can help me hone this writing by pointing out breaches in continuity, something I'm particularly noted for. Right, Lil? Anyway, share and enjoy.

I think that rosé was a little stronger than I thought! I feel a little delicate this morning.
On lotions, I have been using Body Shop's Vitamin E lotion as it is rich, but get absorbs quickly, the smell isn't very edifiying though. I might get some orange oil to add to it.
On oils, it seems research has shown that scented candles with euclyptus, tea tree or orangs oils do actually reduce the amount of airborne bacteria and ways are now being found to use them in hospitals. Obviously with all that neat oxygen piped to bedsides, candles are out of the question, otherwise it wuld be more than bacteria that was airborne.
The castle keep in the town is being reopened today after restoration work and a new roof installed. It is to be renamed the Great Tower and there will be parades and everything. It was built in the 12thC and apart from the Tower and a few walls, there is very little left of the original castle.
Which reminds me, I really must polish up my piece on Guildford and create an entry. B4, I will come back to your entry.

kelli - ran 2 miles a day for 2012, aiming for the same for 2013 Posted Jun 26, 2004
Morning all *doffs cap*
Well done Z, glad to hear that you passed (and convincingly too) although we never had any doubts
It is Day 2 today, my scales reckon I have lost 4 lb already but I don't believe them, will see what they say by day 7. Am trying to think of some event that they can film in the midpoint of the 10 weeks. They asked if they could film me at one of the weddings I am going to this summer but I said no, thought this would unfairly detract some of the attention from the bride. May have a party and let them film that instead.
Thanks for the notes from the last thread Marv, but just in case anyone was confused the screen test I went for is completely unrelated to my new job - I'm getting a tiny amount of fame in my spare time rather than professionally
Off out into the rain now in a quest to find the remaining ingredients for this diet that the supermarket didn't stock.

Wonderful news Z about the resit!
The Hootoo time warp thing has had me baffled for a while - but is vastly preferable to the errors and web-jam stuff.
You all seem to be leading much more interesting and exciting lives than me (grammar?) - dates with new people, blind dates, tv programmes etc.
I do have something of interest on the horizon - two weeks in the Algarve - in a free zone. So I will be even more absent from the salon than normal.
Talk of body lotion and Grandmas - I'm fond of Crabtree & Evelyn's Rosewater soaps and lotions because they remind me of mine. The lavander one is also lovely. I usually wear a lavander and tea-tree body lotion when I'm working - as it's suitably medicinal
I'm sending Ben a soothing head and neck massage, with her choice of scented oils, as she seems particularly fed-up just now

Well, I appear to have put ON four pounds this week! How can that happen?
Just spent a couple of hours picking poems to send off for the June competitions. I am later than I like, again, but there is no reason why they shouldn't get there in time for the end of the month if I get them to the post office now.
I find it an oddly stressful activity for some reason.
Went to read a couple of my poems at a Poets evening last night. I was headachy and tired, and I have no idea whether I read them brilliantly or badly. Still, the emcee is encouraging and I'll go back next month.
The Snotty Poetry Society got back to me, and are meeting on Tuesday. It is a stretch to manage it, because I am working at the opposite end of the motorway, but it is possible and I will try. This lot critique, so I need to choose a poem which is short enough to work with.
Oh, and I am off to Lymm to collect my Runner's Up Cheque this afternoon. So all in all, it is hustle hustle hustle on the poetry front!

If kelli lost 4 pounds, and Ben gained, this is proof that really, when you lose weight, someone else finds it.
I wonder who has found my 71?

So, I decice to celebrate Midsummer, and what do you folks do? Get a newly started conversations abslotule crammed with back-log in no time at all!
Congrats to Z!
Lotions - there used to be a very nice one with the scent of cocos, but it's gone now. A pity, because I really thought the scent fitted me...
Last to the forum Sol? I don't think so...
Rosé wines? Don't care much about them, unless they're based on a Rioja wine...

For Ben, but have you used a new set of scales, I find that often puts weight on.
The stress of the resit has had me off food recently. I even turned down the chance of a free chinese last night because I wasn't hungry. The only problem is that I just can't afford to join a gym at the moment, or even go swimming regularly. I also found that a side effect of my medication *may* be a slight weight gain. Which makes me feel better about things. Not that I'm going to stop taking it just for that reason.
Thanks, Marv, WM, FG, Caer, Hypatia, Ben Kelli, Teuchter and Titania, it hasn't really sunk in yet, rather selfishly I was aware that failing was not a likely prospect given the amount of work that I'd put it. Of course it can still happen.
OOh and a chilled Rose is always good for an unsophisticated fool like me anyway.
We're celebrating A's first this weekend, TXG is coming up for a night out. So for an entirely unrelated reason I'm off to tidy my bedroom

Probably water, Ben. I thought that post menopause I wouldn't have the monthly bloating and water weight fluctuations. But, I still do.
B4, I will admit to not understanding the fascination with the Rocky Horror thing. When we lived in San Antonio, it was the Saturday night midnight movie for literally years. And the same people would dress up in costumes and pay to watch it every single week. It's a cute movie, but.......
But then I don't want to watch any movie or tv series over and over. And we have library patrons who check out the same books over and over. You're old enough to remember 45s. I had a friend who would put a 45 on and play the same song nonstop for days. Drove me crazy.
I don't mind seeing a movie I liked again a few years later; or reading books over after a few years. But there are too many I haven't read to spend all of my time rereading the ones I have.

Just back from the town and it wasn't quite the parade I was expecting; a drum, pipes and the museum staff in medieval costume, plus a dog. There are two marching bands locally and although not medieval I don't think a rendtion of the Star Wars theme and various rearranged popular tunes would have detracted from the occasion, but they must have been otherwise engaged. As it was raining on and off, we ducked out of the opening ceremony itself for a light lunch.
On the way home we passed the biggest number of police, mobile units, cars and motorbikes I have ever seen in Guildford at one end of the local park. As the whole County Show went off with only a couple of officers in attendance, I can only think they were gathering for a picnic.
I have always avoided rosé, with memories of Mateus Rosé being considered the height of sophistication in the 70s, but after last night's glass or four, I may well try some more. It haas come along way since then. The grape variety was Syrah, T.

Oh and neither the film or any shows since have compared well with the original Rocky Horror Show starring Richard O'Brien in my opnion. That show really rocked!

I'm feeling rather virtuous having managed to balance my current account and clear out my wardrobe.
I got rid of a variety of clothes which no longer fit and/or are too young for me now The local charity shop will be getting a few bagfuls this afternoon.
I've decided that I will now only allow myself to buy something new if I chuck out something old. I really wonder why on earth I ever bought some of that stuff?
My new persona is going to be suavely sophisticated and well groomed - those who have met me in RL will know just how unlikely that is
What's the worst clothing purchase other Salonistas have made?

It was the bottles more than the taste. You could use them as very stable candle holders after you emptied them. But if the taste has improved, I'll pick up a bottle and try it. Heaven knows I can use more candle holders.
How could we have a LTTF cattle prod? That would involve paying SUCH attention to comings and goings...
