B4 I hope Mrs B4's surgery goes well.
I haven't opened a tin of food for a long time. I found the pouches much more convenient and H, as a veggie, didn't have to negotiate smelly tins in the fridge. Now that Cassie is on the Science Diet Light, I only have to deal with self sealing bags. Mind you, if anyone can injure themselves on those, then it will be me.
I do wish you could all see Cassie , she is sitting beside me on the sofa giving me the Look because I have got the laptop open and there is no room for her, she has tried!

Oh, come on Cassie - a beautiful cat like you shouldn't be sulking you know - makes you look less adorable...
Now, the way to *really* worm your way to the of Caer would be to be irresistingly lovable and adorable - you know how to do it, don't you now?
You go girl!

REAL LIFE MADE SCIENCE UPDATE
I've almost finished a real-life Arithmancy experiment, and the scary thing is that my hypothesis seems to be correct!
Oh, and so you all know: Arithmancy isn't magic, it's merely "significantly advanced" math that is "indistinguishable from magic."
Sorry to interrupt, but I felt that I had to share. Maybe I can get into a journal other than the journal of irreproduceable results with this one.

Satchmo want's what I'm eating. The is bad enough for me but it will surely kill him!
What I really need to do is sweep the tile floor Satchmo is stretched out on!

I couldn't get that page to load, ox.
I am trying to get Clicquot to sit next to me instead of in my lap when I am reading. He's not very happy about it, but there is no room for both him and Quicksilver.

Hmmm...I don't know why, Witty. Maybe I've done something wrong at this end.

I would like to start doing cross stitch and crewl again, but with and a lap it is going to be tricky.
I found some adorable veggie patterns that would be great as pillows on my back porch.
Ti,are the buns you fill with cream regular buns or sweetened?

I am a counted cross stitcher. This is the project I am working on right now.

For Christmas, my daughter gave me a software program that will create a counted cross stitch pattern from a scanned photograph or drawing. I am looking forward to doing something with that, but I don't know what as yet.

T, she gave up and went to sleep on a cushion, with her back towards me
I like the design, Witty. I have been known to do needlepoint and have Royal Schoolof Needlework design on the go, on the go for about four years now
Google had pages of RSN links, but known showing their designs. It is a footstool design.

GDZ and I are just back from having lunch with one of our newest Salonistas, dave. It was cool to meet yet another Salonista! dave will be joining us for billiards and beers later at my default watering hole.
Those buns remind me of a pastry that my mother makes. I will have to call her and get the recipie and name.
Good luck with Mrs B4, B4. My dad is getting some minor surgery done on Tuesday. I am somewhat worried about it, but it should be OK as it is not a big procedure. I'll be taking him to the hospital and then home again that day.

* wanders in fashionably late *
Right now where was I...
#688: What was that Marv? No more three-holed Doc Martens?
What the heck am I going to wear to work when my current pair fall apart
#695: Az, there is no more weird an experience than watching an English film in a foreign cinema when you can't speak or read a word of said foreign language. The audience are all working off of the subtitles whilst you're waiting for the actor lips to move. You experience the whole film about 2 seconds behind everyone else
#700 First album - Stranglers "Rattus Norvegicus", my mother hated me playing it
Last album - an Israeli pressing of the Smiths first LP.
#776: Yes Lil that would be most polite, however when I lived in Holland all the locals insisted on practicing their English on me so I never stood a chance of learning the language. After three whole summers spent swaning around in Amsterdam, the only Dutch word I knew was the one for cheese. And I've forgotten that was now
#784: FG, whilst the government of Canada does indeed bend over backwards to accomodate the needs of the French speaking minority. The view of the English speaking population ain't so forgiving. My folks lived in Toronto up until the a few years ago. What they saw was immigrants coming from all over the world, they came in and got stuck in to building a new life for themselves in this new land. Their original traditions customs and language were preserved within their own communities, but there was a realisation that they had to be Canadian if they were going to get on in with life. The overall impression was one of a positive melting point.
Quebec on the other hand was seen as whinging Frogs whos only contribution was to say 'non' to everything.
Quite honestly, if it weren't for the English speakers stuck out beyond Quebec in the Maritimes and the St.Lawrence seaway linking the rest of Canada to the Atlantic, then the rest of Canada would have bit the French lot adieu long ago.
#812: Z, it's not that you *have* to speak Welsh to work in the Public Sector in North Wales. It's more of a case that it is a good idea if you do, as you'll understand what the gossip going around is.
#838: Hati, that researcher is the same one who has been harrassing Kaz in the last few days, who in turn has gone off and started this thread by way of complaint - F615?thread=384177, which then got invaded by ~IV~
Oh dear, here comes another hootoo sh*t storm
#922: *notices that Kaz* has turned up - *waves hello *
I also notice that Kaz has posted a 'quieten down at the back' message on the thread what I just referenced. So hopefully stuff will be OK on Monday.
*note to self - check in at the Atelier on a more regular basis, and then you wouldn't have to do a 500+ post backlog trawl with all the attendent risks of your response being over taken by events *
#954: Buy the house Ben
... and checking on down the thread most other contributors seem to agree
#956: Much to my horror I discover that I'm actually something of a sweetie and not a cynic at all! This simply will not do
*wanders off muttering something about the Beckhams truthfully being a lovely couple, honest...*
#990: Happy (belated) birthday Hati
#1028: War of the Worlds. I to am going to have to admit to have been a bit partial to that record in my time...
#1100s-ish: I have to confess I didn't actually know what Lent was until I was in my twenties.
My religious education suffered a major set back at a very early age. It all started when my mother's local vicar told her to go back to the man she'd just left (ie my Dad) and beg for his forgiveness, and ask to be taken back for he is her provider.
My mother somewhat disagreed with his assessment of the situation, what with my father being a lazy good for nothing prick, and told said vicar where he could stick his prayer book.
I never went to Sunday school much after that...
OK, I think I'm done. Carry on

Bravo, GD! That's the best backlog response I've seen. Such commitment!
Ox, I know that look well. And Witty, you have to click reload or refresh to get the picture to load. I think they are trying to prevent people from hosting pictures there but using them elsewhere, like we used to do on the old h2g2.com

*rouses self from semi-conscious state*
Split pea soup... Hati, you've given me an idea for how I can keep Mum busy when I see her next month. Her recipe has smoked ham hocks, peas, onion, a small amount of grated carrot, bay leaves and lots of fresh-ground black pepper. Perhaps I should 'help' her make some; she's always calm when she's cooking.
And I've forgotten what I was going to say next. Timezone troubles...
*returns to semi-sleep*
