Which planet do you intend to live on then? Most countries on earth are in the habit of shooting at people in positions of power.
I have a conference call in 5 minutes and it's way too early. (7 am)

Bizarre news story of the day:

Is it called Sylvia, though?

OK, so it's old news, but it's still bizarre.
*wonders why he didn't notice the date before now...*

That goat story is among the most e-mailed ones rather than recent ones David - it caught my eye as well...

STRANGELY STRANGE ( A brain on a spring ) Posted Sep 11, 2006
Phil,
yes hopefully the photos yesterday will be OK.
.
Today was slightly more surreal though. I had this idea of setting up an advert/story type thing with a teddy bear, along the lines of "Bear goes on holiday". Since I don't live at the coast my local park would have to do. I went to the pond with a small boat house type thing and placed the bear to side of frame with boathouse in background at other end of frame, people were bemused but OK until I said to the bear left hand down a bit!
Seriously though, I try to do differant things as makes me think a bit more and you could easily replace the bear with a person, so it is all good practice, and made me think about the light more.. Did use my tripod which is quite rare as bear is small and to get accurate framing would be difficult without it.

Well, I had been feeling smug when I posted that, Lil, but I remembered Airy Neave and Sir Ian Gow, so I guess I can't be that smug after all.

i am horrible with the midwest too - NE, SW, SE and NW are all easy, but when it comes to anything east of the Dakotas and west of Ohio (other than Michigan), i tend to fluster.
i had the worst night of sleep last night. i had a slight fever and felt like i was burning up, then i couldn't fall asleep and when i finally did i had a series of dreams where i was filling out forms and had to refill one section over and over - damned anxiety dreams!!
yesterday i distinctly remember dreaming about conan the barbarian for some reason, but mostly i was trying to figure out how to spell schwarzeneger... er, schwarzenegger.

Technicaly airy nieve gow and mountbatten were acts of war, unlike assasinations.

Sure a couple of dutch reasearchers on the german lanquage thread, thought was dutch one as well.

Too true. I saw one great example of this the last time I was at the Mighty Wal Mart. A woman had a tattoo of Lady from Disney's Lady and the Tramp on her left shoulder blade. The tattoo artist did a good job outlining Lady--a good thing, since the browns of Lady's fur had faded with time and all you could see was the black outline.

I like the Netherlands. Even Amsterdam, though sleeping on the streets there was a bit tricky thing to do.
And the reason of my weird nickname has something to do with the NL as well - some people just can't notice the difference between letters 't' and 'p'. So, Bagpuss, in my hootoo corners you may meet Hapi U200355 who is Dutch indeed.

Went to a corporate roadshow thing designed to rah-rah-rah-rally the troops. The excessive volumes and bright and flashing lights have given me a migraine. I am torn between wanting to be better tomorrow because I don't like being ill, and wanting to be ill so I can really let into them in the feed-back form. I am sorry, but I do not expect corporate events to make me throw up and make me good for nothing but a darkened room for 12 hours.
Tiger has turned up but still no sign of Curly which is worrying me now.
Still. Bed's the only thing I'm fit for.

*Oh I the idea of having a "shower" with correct pronunciation!*
Suddenly wondering if the original wasn't just that and got somehow changed to the "other" pronunciation along the line.
