Cold showers help in hot weather. And an ice pack behind your neck is good. Also you have to keep really well hydrated. Can you open your windows from the top? You definitely need the cool night air.

Stinky, stay!
The STBX's army unit is having family day tomorrow. It starts at 8 in the morning with a half-hour military talk about extremism in the middle east. I can't decide if I'm in the mood to get riled up or not. If yes, I will go in early and see this little talk (and skip the rest, like USAA's half-hour pitch on insurance) and get very uppity about factual errors. If not, I'll just sleep in and head up there for the lunch thing.
Given the fact that it's the STBX, and it's the military, I don't know that I really want to do this. But he was remarkably nice in asking me to go, so we'll see.

Wow... Today is one B***H of a day.
Just looking at case load, I am on my 10th case of the day (normal load for a week day is 3) and I still have three hours of work to go.
I need a break, and a beer.

That won't be necessary Stinky. Just grace us with the pleasure of your company. Get comfy on the sofa and Matina will bring you whatever light refreshments you desire.

I have to confess to skipping a little bit of the backlog in the last thread too. From the first message in this thread, it looks like I missed some interesting moments too.

Oh don't worry about reading the backlog if I sign in every day I manage it, but often I don't I have this strange real life that gets in the way.
After drinking far too much last night I managed to get up early and get a train, (thankfully air conditioned) to Wales to meet my family. The station where I met them is attached to a village with two caravan sites, a church and a very very very very nice beach. For some reason no one but me had thought that they might want to go swimming. After five minutes they were moaning that it was too hot.
And of course I forgot the sunscreen, I haven't had the courage to wear shorts for about two years, and to go topless for about ten so to be honest I've never needed to own any. Except today was just to damn hot, I wanted to swim, so I thought sod it, there's no one I know apart from my famiy around.
Except now I have a nasty case of sunburn - ouch.
has a particularly bad odor.
Montana Redhead (now with letters) Posted Aug 9, 2003
Z, believe me, I am the sunburn queen. Soak tea bags in vinegar and "wash" the burn. It works. Don't ask me why, but it does.

When it rains, it really rains. I have been battling water most of the afternoon. I mean, it ~really~ rained, so much that the drops started flying upward, got in the eaves and leaked a little bit through my ceiling. Then Cille showed up soaking wet and COMMANDED me to grab my camera and drive down the road, which I did.

Stinky, don't go. You're just encountering the atelier's world-famous, no, galaxy-famous backlog. More than two dozen regulars salonistas, all with lots to say.

Wow, Lil. That's flooding.
I woke up to heavy rain & thunder this morning, but it has only just gone 09.00am and it is already 25deg/78deg in the flat and hu-u-u-u-mid. Another hot one, I think, probably worse than yesterday.
I can feel a poem bubbling too, which would I guess be a good way to spend the day.

My computer is being a pain. The DVD drive is not cooperating with me all that well for some reason. I think that I will have to swap out the power supply from the old case to get the additional 50 watts. Hopefully that will resolve the issue. I will also salvage a case fan from the old box to add some airflow to the new setup. I am trying to cool down the machine a bit, as I think that I am overheating it. Once I steal the slumlord's camera, I will take a picture.
For now, I guess that I should just use the DVD player upstairs on the big screen, but I do like to watch anime from my desk. Anyone else watch films on their computer? I tend to watch the films on teh big screen to get teh surround sound, and anime at my desk. Some time this weekend mabey I will clean the desk up a bit and display some of my figures etc.

No storms here yet, just mega scorchio.
I have very generously allowed H to take my car over to his parents so that he and his Dad can give it a thorough scrutiny.
I have lost track in the backlog, but was it you, Marv, or d'E who has bought a fancy new pc case? I wish No2 son had done that instaed of customising his own. There still bits of acrylic panel and tool lying around int he garage from his latest build

Good news about the Car Caerwynn, I'm glad you're pleased with it after all the trouble it took to get hold of it. Thanks of the tip about the teabag and vingear MR, the only vinegar we've got is Japanese Rice Vinegar, do you think that will work?
I'm in the state I call "happliy sunburnt" where it doesn't hurt too much any more, and the odd twinge reminds me of the day on the beach.
I'm still a bit stunned that it's possible to get a direct train from New Street station to a small village in wales, without changing at all.
But just then there is a knock on the door
