What shade of blue is the car? If you're having trouble with a 'blue...' name maybe you could use azure or royal or whatever shade it is plus lady or whatever. That would keep with the blue tradition.

Hi Silunaka, welcome to Lil's.
It is called Europa Blue, Hypatia. I haven't actually seen the colour on a car, just samples. It is a darker blue, but not the darkest one they do, it is also pearlescent paint so should have a pretty sheen.
H asked me last night if I'm going to wash it . I don't 'do' carwashing as I do all the other washing in the household. But I have a secret weapon: Richard who does car valetting, he is recommended by my hairdresser.

Welcome, Silunaka -- you did exactly right, just sitting down and saying hello. You can orient yourself by checking out the floor plan at http://www.asterlil.com/h2g2/aplannew.htm -- this will explain some of the other threads on this forum.
Europa Blue doesn't mean anything. It could be anything from azure to indigo.
I'm definitely going to go out of my way to see Seabiscuit. And there's a documentary on A&E on the 27th, as well.
Off to Roswell this morning.

It isn't even the colour of the European flag, Lil, being darker. There is a colour chart on the links I posted ages ago, but monitor settings vary anyway.
The Garage have ordered a new hub disc for the Black Beauty, there was no part number on any of the remaing ones, so they gave Toyota the chassis number, who will deliver a new one on Monday. I shall have to find some matching spray paint so that the others match in with the new one.
The engine hoist has arrived, so No2 son will be busy this weekend replacing the clutch on the Polo, with H lending a hand when needed. I am hoping we can get in the local paper next week and have it sold off by Friday. A bit optimistic perhaps, as it needs an MOT first.

*waves to Silunaka* Nice to meet you.
My cataloger has a new car that is a pretty shade of blue. But she can never remember what it's called. It's a medium blue with a pearly look. It's really pretty. Sort of the shade you get when you lighten ultramarine.

Went and saw Jasper Fforde, live and chatty, last night. What a terribly nice chap, he answered questions for well over an hour. And yes, this does mean his third book "Well of Lost Plots" is out in the UK and great fun it is to read to. I want an Emergency Ejecting Hat now though.

I've taken some extra time to read through the first link you cited, Ben, and I well understand your distress, particularly with the ugly remarks made at you, but by now, I really think that we all understand the source. I don't think you're stupid and blinkered, if it's any consolation.
If I understand the complaint correctly, somebody up in the EP (Editorial Policy) department of the bbc took it upon himself to delete several entries -- approved entries in the Edited Guide -- without giving reasons to the italics, then promptly went on holiday for a few weeks.
Personally, I think that once this person's absence was confirmed, everyone should have sat quietly and waited for his return. Is it the articles this person deleted that have been quite recently reinstated?

This is going to be a long long day. A good portion of my team is out and I have a huge backlog of cases to take care of. I also have a great deal of general apathy towards this place (work, not the salon) these days.

*I will be disconnecting my computer today and will not have my cable modem until Monday. I am moving into my new place this weekend, starting today with assorted detrius. See you all on Monday night.*

Good luck with the move Courtesy. As someone who has just recovered from a move I really sympathise with you. I hope you don't have a washing machine to transport.
I have decided that it is time I created a better impression online, and started taking more care with spelling and grammar, especially spelling. I was in a conversation where I was made aware of how much people judge each other on how postings look. Posts by people who don't seem to have made an effort with grammar or puncutation do get ignored by others.
After three weeks my fish have stopped fighting, which is rather good news as I was seriously considering having to rehome one of them, but didn't know anyone who wanted an anti social angel fish.

In a fit of frustration, I have asked my mangler to transfer me to a different team. The team that I requested is not my favourite, but my cow orkers have been making my life a living hell for far too long.
I am tired of petulant middle aged men griping about things out of my controll and bitching me out because they think that I don't pull my weight. I am tired in general.

for Marv. Fans him with a . This has been a bad year for you at work. Maybe this will get the manglers' attention and they'll do something about the situation. Or not. Every time I stand up for myself, someone steals my chair. Just ignore me. I can't straighten out my own situation, so am not qualified to offer advise. But does help. And lots of gin.
