I'm not sure setting the dough to rise in the microwave would work, Caer. It might kill the yeast, but I've never tried it. I would turn the oven on for 5 minutes or less, make sure it's not too hot, then put the dough in there. With the oven door closed it should cool off slowly enough to allow the dough to rise.

I like coffee from a percolator.

My local Chinese restaurant is called the Jade Dragon. I thought that was a safe, uninteresting name until Ben posted . I don't know what to make of it now.
I find it funny that men prefer to live with smelly cats or dogs that keep running away rather than face the issue of castration. I love the way men stand with their legs crossed when you try to discuss the subject. I wonder if they have to run a six week course to train new male vets out of the habit. *catches Zeppos eye*

That's not quite what I'd call breakfast. I mean, where's the bacon, the sausages, the mushrooms, the fried bread and black pudding?
Currently looking forward to some black pudding as I got some fresh from the world centre of blck puding making, Bury market, yesterday
Still I will from now on try and remember it's half fat to flour (I knew it really) for simple shortcrust pastry and not try it with equal measures. Thankfully I realised something was amiss when mixing it and it was rather sticky before I added any water and managed to save it. Now what to do with the extra mix I've got sat in the fridge?

Zeppo has not been neutered, and yes that is because I was uncomfortable with it. However, if I had more than one dog it would be necessary and I wouldn't hesitate. Fortunately Zeppo shows very few of the behaviors that the procedure is supposed to address - he doesn't roam, fight with other dogs, or smell.
OK, right now he kind of smells. He found a dead fish on the beach and rolled in it. I gave him a bath, but it still comes through a little.

The male vet said that Archer was the best cat he had ever seen, and did the breeder want to keep him entire for stud purposes? I said that they are both off the breeding register, and he seemed ok with that.
I think it is just one of those subjects that the PL and I will have to not discuss. It does amuse me that he is so uncomfortable with the idea, though I have to say that there would be a large number of women who would have had fewer dreamy smiles on their faces if anyone had ever caught up with him with a sharp knife. Did I post a link to the Kipling parody I wrote on that particular subject?
Anyway, I am full of vicarious compliment, and feeling very smug.

From sunshine to torential downpour in 8 minutes.
Guess I should have run those errands this morning.
I'm quite full. I popped some blueberry pancakes in the microwave, and fixed bacon to go along with them. I don't like cooking eggs in the microwave, although I suppose I could rummage up an electric egg cooker. And I'll bring in my electric skillet and my electric wok.

Mua-ha-hawwww... I sent you some Swedish summer for gloating in my journal, H!
Naaah... you're a bit too far away for that - I've seen several rainbows this evening, because the weather is constantly swinging from sunshine to rain, often simultaneously - and some thunderstorms thrown in somewhere between those as well...

Oh, and I am - according to the quiz - definitely a man. I wish I wasn't surprised by that, though I am not sure whether that makes me sad for me, or sad for the the way that femininity is percieved.

Oh, and Witty, I checked the available backgrounds, and there is nothing that looks anything like the 'face' - not even in reverted colours, and not even half of it (to me the 'face' looks as if it is constructed by two identical images side by side with a slight overlap)

Ti, it really was beautiful when I wrote that in your journal. Honest.
How do I get a job making up these silly tests? Wasn't there one that told you what kind of animal you were?

I think I was a golden retriever too... but I think I took one of the many tests at emode dot com, where you have to register before taking a test... but I think that somewhere in the past one of the Salonistas provided us with a link to some test that didn't involve any registering...

Tonight a lot of Swedes will follow the weather forecasts with keen interest, because tomorrow we will be celebrating Midsummer Night's Eve - and it's mostly celebrated outdoors... *looks out at rain pouring down, wondering if there are any sunshine dances (kind of like rain dances but the other way around)*

Doughnuts! Here's everyone's orders. Those apple spice ones are mine.
*jumps as the hatch slams down again* Matina always used to keep the hatch open. And the door. Where are the pets' food and water bowls?

The first quiz pegged me as a girl with 80% confidence, even though I also like the wrong color bedroom and didn't answer the Canada question. Maybe not answering a question is significant.
And I am Jean-Luc Picard.
