When I make a List I divide the paper vertically into two columns and label them Important and Not Important. Then I divide the paper in two horizontally and label the top half 'Urgent' and the lower half 'Not Urgent.' Then I fill in the quadrants and I have to tackle - or at least start - all the important things before I'm allowed to do any of the less important things, however urgent they may appear to be.
Raising the intellectual tone a notch , I've found an academic paper on lurking. http://www2006.org/programme/item.php?id=1018

I'm wondering why they need to go to Edinburgh. Couldn't they all just log-on at the same time?
Not that there's anything wrong with Edinburgh - it's just that Glasgow's miles better

*the list keps wrapping itself around her arm*

I attended an online conference a few weeks ago and it didn't work for me as well as going away to a conference would have. Because I was at my desk, people insisted on believing I was there for some reason . "Go away, I'm at a conference" didn't seem to have the desired effect and so I suffered from constant interruptions and missed more than half of the proceedings. And there was no bar!

Lil, perhaps you need my patent moebius list paper.
Teuchter, just in case any interested ants might be passing , could you please give a quick rundown of the advantages of Glasgow over Edinburgh as a place to live... and w*rk... and stuff.

Teuchter Posted May 22, 2006
Glasgow's wetter - but Edinburgh's colder.
Glaswegians are more open and friendly - Edinburghians are more insular.
Property's cheaper in the west - prices in the east took a hike with the opening of the Scottish Parliament.
Glasgow has better public transport, including an underground system, and it's still possible to take a car into the city-centre.
It could be said that Edinburgh has more 'history' - but Glasgow has the architecture.
People from Edinburgh go to shop in Glasgow if they want something special; in retail terms, Glasgow's said to be second only to London.
Actually - the quality of life in either city is good. Both have free art galleries and museums and good theatres/cultural activities.
And - there are very good schools in both cities.

I reckon Glasgow's got a better website

I lived in Edinburgh for a few months, right into the winter, in fact. I thought it was gorgeous, but I didn't like seeing the sun rise at 9 and set at 3:30. That was the year they set the clocks 2 hours back.

Hi How!
(I really enjoyed saying it - in fact I think I might say it again -
"Hi How!"...
)
Happy Birthday Sig S.
Personally, I've always found the people on the West Coast of Scotland, from Kirkudbright to the Isles, to be *significantly* friendlier than people on the East Coast. Glasgow's... sexier than Edinburgh. Edinburgh is busy making sure it's douce and checking what everyone thinks of it all the time, but Glasgow just gets on with it.
The old joke used to say "if you want a meal out go to Edinburgh, but if you want an night out go to Glasgow". I *like* Glasgow.
The queer business is rumbling on and on. I've had *another* post pulled for no good reason. I was a moderator on Get Writing for a while. I know my way around the terms and conditions. And this one was also upheld by the Italics. To be honest, ladles and jellyspoons, if it wasn't for your good selves, that last yikesed post would have been my own personal boojum.
I'm also peed off because the car needs a new suspension coil and I have to pay for the next leg of my MSc, and I am skinter than Skint McSkint of Skintsville, Skintshire at the moment. Actually, I'm not, but I will be once I've paid out for things like suspensions coils and courses in business ethics.
Oh. And it is flicking FREEZING out there. It's MAY. It shouldn't be allowed to be this cold in May.
Winge.
Moan.
Whine.
Groan.
Ben
Ps - I love you all. You're my mates you are.

kelli - ran 2 miles a day for 2012, aiming for the same for 2013 Posted May 22, 2006
Is this yet another Ben I need to add to my friends list?
That is getting *very* tiresome Ben - it isn't a word that is blocked by the profundity filter so why on earth are the eds upholding decisions like that?

Ben Posted May 22, 2006
I've had this account for a while, Kelli, probably since the last time I felt flouncy, to be honest. But this time I don't care. I can no loger raise a shred of emotion about greater hootoo. I don't anticipate journaling here to be honest, just posting in these conversations and maybe lurking some of your journals and that'll be about it.
I'm not leaving the Salon. Oh no.

"Glasgow's... sexier than Edinburgh."
Ever seen Rab C Nesbitt?
Amy's off to Scotland?
I'm off for a nice warm bath, having been cold and wet most of the day. One of my workmates seems to be copying airline companies by expecting me to phone up to reconfirm that I want a lift in.

I lived opposite the bar he sang kareoke in, Bagpuss, and I still say Glasgow's sexier than Edinburgh. In a roughty toughty kind of way, I'll admit. But it's got more vibrancy in its veins. I'll always treasure the sign in a wine merchants which said: "you canna nock a good rioja"

When I make it to the Other Side of The Pond I want to visit Glasgow. Well, truth be told, I want to visit a site on the other side of the Firth of Clyde from Glasgow. How hard is it to get from Glasgow to Toward?

Whew, Gwen, aren't you glad you checked out the arm? We were all worried about you.
