I feel that less places visited, with a little more time at each would be better, for me anyway.
I find if I visit too many places I get tired and can't take it all in, particularly somewhere like a castle or presumably a cathedral, where to just sit down and take in atmospher is important, and to talk to staff who seem to have a wealth of information about conservation, etc not in brochures.
One of the good things about Britain is the wealth of historic buildings, and we are lucky to have the National Trust to take care of a lot of the historic buildings, I believe a fairly small membership fee allows free entry to all their buildings.
What I do like about Britain is that although there are towns around coast dedicated to holiday makers, and a few areas around things like Tower of London, much of Britain is just normal towns and cities so it is easy to get an everyday view of life, sometimes warts and all!

Have discovered an online garden centre that is brilliant for suggesting plants to fit various criteria - you can even go to the 'keen but clueless' section and get all sorts of useful advice

Strangely Strange, those are words of wisdom. I'm sure that's what will happen. That's why I want to read up on them first. This way I can pick the ones that interest me the most.

Lunch hour. About 10:30, a tour coach pulled up in front of the Tunstall Store (which the post office occupies a corner of) and parked so that its engine was directly in front of the door to the post office. The driver left the engine running and strolled off to join the tour. So I followed him behind the store and told him off, which felt wonderful.

Coventry also sort of has two cathedrals for the price of one: the ruined Cathedral and the modern one.

Housework: we're sort of doing that around r*vision atm-exams next week, but also a house inspection Monday I'm not very good at housework, but will do it if it piles up. I have several paper piles though-mainly essay notes and the like, which I'm hunting out for revision

Fonts? My last lot of work was done in the nearest thing open office has to times new roman as a fledgling linux user: help, I'm a ! I don't like comic sans either, and I doubt it'd do much for my marks. But my long essays are all done and handed in, even at the expense of being an hour late for short loans-was printing out, having changed my cartridge, especially as I'd been cooking pasta carbonara at 1am-G and I have been gong out a year.

We have a "corporate" font, which was, er, something, but not everyone had it, so now it's Arial.

I have been trying to work out what is so interesting about historical buildings.
Yes there is the historical aspect , trying to see how other people lived in past, but I think it also due to the being part of our roots and stability, even if the building is derelict, or maybe even more so if the building is in that state.
A 1400s tomb has a moving efect even after all that time, it is/was still a human being, flesh and blood like all of us, even with a carved slab in the shape of a knight.

i've tried to like cilantro, i just don't. the taste of it is truly offensive to me. it makes me want to throw up - just the smell - and it puts me entirely off my appetite. i'm not alone:

I love walking around old churches -- if you're sharp eyed (as I used to be), you can find all sorts of interesting and surprising touches -- like tiny gargoyles tucked in the corner, things like that. Old building in general deserve a good "listen", as they say a lot.


Ahmmm... change of topic.

The talk of curries has my interest peaked. Is there any way to make a low-sodium, high-fiber, low-fat, fairly low-carb curry? That wouldn't kill the fern I might need to dump it behind if it's awful?

Or just a good simple description of a classic curry that I could adapt?
