I agree. I can't stand to watch somebody getting hurt. I love the funny videos of animals and kids, however.
FG - you did the right thing by absenting yourself from the house. Have you notified the authorities?

Funny videos of animals you say? http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-8079381413612222056&q=cats&pl=true
Another for FG.

I particularly like the cat on the ping-pong table.
Talking of s - Curly has been AWOL this evening for about an hour and a half, and I want to go to bed. I daren't not find him, but I really don't want to have to go and hunt him down because that really is a thankless task. The little buggers never want to be found when you do that.
Akkk.

Great code word, Z.
I didn't contact the authorities, Lentilla, because I sunk to his level of behavior in response to his actions. My temper went off like the proverbial firecracker . I'm half-disgusted and half-pleased by my reaction because while I don't like to think of myself as someone who tears around like a banshee, I did scare the holy crap out of him. And he needed that.
Thanks for everyone's good thoughts. I'm sure I'll rise above this.

Atta girl! Tap into that inner banshee! Whay to go!
Right - I finally have both and inside. I have a lot of sympathy for them, it's a lovely night - mild and full of owls and rabbits and rivers and screechy things. I wouldn't want to come in myself if I didn't have work to go to tomorrow.
Little basterds.

*makes cocoa with rum in a very big jug, and brings out a tray-ful of mugs*
Pronounced 'kew-kew', especially for Ben.
*toasts inner banshees. Or bean-a-sidhe, because Ag is going to Ireland for a wee holiday in May, and can be an insufferable little know-it-all at, ooh, the drop of a hat*
This sweary thing. I feel like I'm back at boarding-school, where even terms like 'Hell' were controlled substances to be detonated very very carefully in Religious Education classes only. Harrumph. Are we or are we not adults? Adultish? Adult enough to manage conversations about the Welfare State and such? I mean, really, the amount of under-sixteens you get lurking in conversations about the Welfare State, so does not equal the amount of under-sixteens who swear a 'darn' sight more than I do by a factor of about a bazillion to seven. So I went and had a therapeutic exercisement of the word for clumps of soil on the bloglet, on principle. Or will this all be moderated because I mention the fact I actually said a sweary word somewhere else?
*admires Henry VIII (what a friendly looking Henry VIII!) and splendid rabbit mask. Laughs very hard indeed at kitties. Wants cat rather badly (helped by return of mice in kitchen, the little ) oops done it now...*

Ben, I find the best way to call a cat is with food - liver, preferably. Although the sound of a can opener was a siren song for my cat, no matter what was in the can.
I love watching the kitties get into trouble. Whatever happened to that video with the cat and the ceiling fan...?
> I did scare the holy crap out of him. And he needed that.
Good! Sometimes you've just got to yell at somebody.
I don't know. I swear a lot in private conversation, not so much at work. Granted if we were allowed to swear with abandon certainly we'd get a lot of people who couldn't control themselves. But mostly there was a lot of self-censorship going on, accompanied by disdain. I typically just don't swear when I'm writing. But I would like to be able to without being censored!

Cowboy swearing. According to Nevada Barr, spelunkers are superstitious about swearing while below ground, so they do cowboy swearing instead.

Mrs Zen Posted Apr 20, 2006
Morning everyone.
I got about three and a half hours sleep last night because after I'd eventually trapped the cats, my assignment finally started to gel. Yay! As a result I was still typing at 2.00am, and then went to bed very cold and very tired - too tired to do anything about it (put on the heating, find some pyjamas) and so I lay in bed shivering for ages. The alarm goes off at 6.00.
I'm going to go to the WI tonight as a reward though. I had been going to skip it, but I am feeling more confident now. It's just a matter of time, and if the worst comes to the worst I can take a couple of days off next week.

(I lay awake for about an hour - and slept through the alarm which - rather elegently - provides me with Radio 3 - there is no better radio to ease one gently into the morning than Radio 3, but I do tend to sleep through the first hour that it's on).

I can see why small children might run from the bunny mask Lentilla. We think that we've worked out why small children sometimes walk into me (and vice versa). We can't see each other. I'm too tall to be on the small ones radar as a movable object and they just sweep under mine like a low level flight.

I really should be running around like a headless chicken as K isn't going to get in till late this evening, so it looks like I shall have to do his packing too. Somehow, I just can't summon up the energy, so I shall work myself in gently by booking the taxi for the morning.
