congrats on the truck, marv. did you sell the jeep, then?
hey, the devil....i know you said the thing about the weasel playing johnny mathis yesterday, but here's the way to bedevil him....given his moral, political, and religious leanings, tell him what johnny mathis' sexual preference is. i bet he gets rid of it real quick after that!

*Sort enters the salon again, drops a [WM] on the table and hands a note to Marv. He leaves as quietly as he came.*
Marv,
Congrats on the new set of wheels. Are you going to give it a name?

Morning all, cruising in on the back of low bandwidth and tired gerbils, dusty cassocks all round, but prospect of moving on from chasing saurons shadows and amateur horticultural mass destruction (poppy bashing! - sorry Poppy) Bored now that the home team have taken the ball and appear to have gone home for tea. Fancy losing Lil, havent read much Blog, but if a tall tooled up bloke in a black dress is what your after, just ring the monastery! Hope all are well, keep the verdant isle in one piece.

*messenger appears*
I delivered the food. Amos sent me back with this telegram, and said no reply is required.
Mind if I stick around while my horse rests up?
Remember that, in game netiquette, one does not kill other registered researchers (characters). Harass, imprison or chase, yes, but not kill. That is a violation of character sovereignty. So is ascribing actions to them without their consent.

Titania (gone for lunch) Posted Jun 2, 2002
I seem to have difficulties getting people to accept my actions, what do you say about this?
In posting no.76 I'm holding the captives horses, with Sunjello still on the horseback
F90935?thread=186275&post=2068688#p2068688
In posting no.120 Yellowjello is approaching the captives - that is, where I am standing as far as I know (I haven't moved)
F90935?thread=186275&post=2070506#p2070506
In posting no.131 Yellowjello whispers, which I hear, standing nearby
F90935?thread=186275&post=2070795#p2070795
In posting no.139 I pop up right behing Yellowjello
F90935?thread=186275&post=2071049#p2071049
In posting no.142 Yellow and the others run back to their horses
F90935?thread=186275&post=2071373#p2071373
In posting no.150 I claim to have poked Yellow in the ribs with my arrow when he brushed past me
F90935?thread=186275&post=2071712#p2071712
...which I pointed out to the jellos here:
F90857?thread=186090&post=2071911#p2071911
...but they say I was nowhere near Yellowjello - but if I was holding the captives' horses, and he was approaching the captives, I think I was!

I'm just trying to go with the flow, T. so I try not to take any positive action that others can't follow up, also I have such a bad memory that I can't remember half the time where everyone else is.
I'm assuming that someone is acting as DM or MC or whatever, and is picking up all the threads of our actions.
Does it mean that we can't place Munchkin the coach etc, whilst he is away? I would hate him to get left behind and at the mercy of the Webjello gang

Garius Lupus Posted Jun 2, 2002
I think the main problem, T, is with you doing things to others that are irreversable. You've said that the fire can't be put out except by you. Then you apply such fire to another researcher without their permission. How would you like it if a researcher said something like: "Rebjello fires a shotgun at Titania and blows the wings and legs off the fairy." If you follow continuity, you are then permanently immobile, which was no choice of your own. In the extreme, someone could just say that they shoot you dead, beyond all recovery.
The basic rule here, is that you can't do something damaging to another researcher without their permission. It is fine to fire your arrows at them, but it is up to them to decide whether the arrows hit them or not. Always give the other guy a way out. For example, look at how I captured Butch. I crept up behind him, then told him to put his hands up. He then had the option of letting himself be captured (which he did), or making some miraculous escape (which would have been fine too).

Oh, and Caer, it's fine for the stagecoach to move on. Munchkin can then decide for himself whether he had gotten on before it left, or wakes up later to find everyone gone.
