Anyone tried Age of Conan yet?

I've finally given up the struggle against more and more graphically demanding games and decided to buy a new stationary PC. I think I might give AoC a try, since many of the reviews seem positive.

You know when you come across something and you think 'this person clearly has too much time on their hands'?

How about creating WoW paper models:

my father bought aoc and i tried it yesterday. character customization is pretty great - although, all things considered, still not varied "enough" as once you have armor on you all look the same anyways. but in cutscenes/character interaction it matters most.

i only hit lvl 10 and so far most of the game has seemed "instanced" - i don't see any other people and am off on my own. however i imagine this changes once you get over the first part of the game (a bit of extended training).

graphically, my father's computer can barely handle it. you definitely need a high-end pc to run it.

I stopped playing WoW. I mostly play Burnout: Paradise on my PS3 these days.

The world's biggest computer festival Dreamhack starts this weekend. I hadn't planned on going, since the idea of dragging computer and related equipment with me on train/bus didn't appeal to me.

But now I think I might pop in just to check out this one gadget: jDome

MMORPGs need more bosses like that.

I've been enjoying the City of Heroes game lately. Most people I talk to don't believe me when I tell 'em that, but between my level 32 Tech Scrapper and my level 31 Magic Corrupter, I'm having a blast (more literally with the latter than the former.)

After (finally, phew) getting a bit fed up with (but I've got this feeling I'm not quite done with it yet) Oblivion, I decided to return to Wow - and whatever happened on the European servers?

Scarcely a soul to be seen, neither Alliance nor Horde - where is everybody? And will the release of The Wrath of the Lich King be enough to draw back the attention to Wow again?

Or have they all chosen Age of Conan instead? I talked to a recently returned-to-WoW-player who said the original version of Conan was quite bug-ridden, but that it would probably had been sorted by now...

Ti, if it was today it is likely to due to the patch release for 3.0. It is still downloading on my machine here. I am not sure if the EU serves are on the same patch schedule as the US servers.

No, the European patch release didn't start until about 6 hours after my previous posting.

And it wasn't just yesterday, it's been rather empty for the last few days (since I returned to playing Wow).

I hear a lot of .ru players have left the EU servers lately. In fact some EU servers are slated for deactivation. I rather suspect that it's just that people are doing other things prior to the release of Wrath.

So now you can buy yourself a mount at level 30? And why is that? Yet again, I feel WoW are going in the wrong direction, oversimplifying the game for the small ones.

Makes me wonder what kind of player group that is their main target? Infants, kids, teens, adults?

I disagree. What it does is help people level. I for one don't like levels 20-60. I want other classes, but I don't want to spend weeks leveling them up. I am using the triple experience with a refer a friend linked account to power level some toons to a level that will allow me to learn a class but without killing myself grinding levels to do it.

In one weekend I went from 1-60 in 34 hours of game play.

So speed-levelling is right up your alley?

Ahhh... but then, I tend to spend most of my WoW time on RP servers, where levels really don't matter...

I want to get enough high level toons that I can do whatever is needed in raiding come the end game after Wrath comes out.

Don't you just love it when you end up with the right people in a BG (Battle Ground)n in WoW?

3-0
