Three *specific* names, that is..

Decided to start anew an on alliance mage character since I've long forgotten all the tricks and treats - only to discover that I couldn't complete one of the basic (level 1-5) quests. Reporting it to a GM, I was told they knew about it but didn't know how to fix it so I couldn't complete the quest for now.
This is not a new quest, it's been around ever since Draenei and Blood Elves were introduced...

I got my mage to 70 last night. I also got two epic rings from the holiday event, as well.

Came across a player named (re: Tony Hillerman) Cheeilogan who gave me 30 gold just like that (to buy myself a mount when I'm good and ready) and offered me a place in the guild he belongs to.
Now, my most recent character is already member of a guild, but so far, they've just proved to be chatty and friendly. They have a guild bank (saw it) and I've asked for some items from it, but so far nothing.
I'll never forget when my low level human priest stumbled across a fed up top level character who gave him 100 gold and all of his posessions - just like that...

Turns out there are at least two other RL females among the guild members, and one of them (haven't talked much to the other one) is also 40+ like I! What are the chances of that?
The most hilarious thing happened to me in WoW yesterday. My level 20 Draenei mage was in Auberdine when a gang of Blood Elves decided to raid it. Guards dying left right and centre, but I was obviously so insignificant that they didn't bother killing me.
Then a level 27 Blood Elf challenged me to a duel. At first, I had no intention of accepting, but when she started doing the chicken thing at me I got huffed and accepted.
Precisely when the count down reached zero, three guards rushed up and killed her, and I got an achievement ding! I laughed so hard I almost fell off my chair, and explained to my congratulating guildies what had happened. Sometimes you just get lucky!

If you were in Auberdine then you were not flagged for PVP. They couldn't touch you till you flagged. Now that the city guards are level 75, we will have to wait till 80 to restart our assaults on the alliance capitols.

Thing about watching people talk about games I don't play is, I understand each individual word (and "that's a name"), but not most of the post itself.

The home areas for each race are controlled by those factions. It's not till the level 20ish areas that are contested areas. So they can't touch you if you don't have your PVP flag up or if you attack them (automatically happens).

Thanks Marv - I always thought that just the starting area was non-pvp (Teldrassil) but now that you mentioned it, I did indeed notice that Darkshore was non-pvp too...
On a slightly different note, I visited one of *the* major gaming shops in Stockholm today - and found people already queueing up for buying Wrath of the Litch King at midninght tonight, dressed as WoW characters - at 5.30 pm!

I will be going to a store tonight to pick up my copy. Not going to dress up though.

Downloaded the Wrath of the Litch King from the European Wow site - was told I wouldn't be able to log on and play until I had upgraded my account.
Tried upgrading it, and was asked for a key, and thought I had locked myself out of playing!
Nah, I can still play, but can't get on any of the boats to Northrend. But I wonder how to get the key? Since I've got the download, I don't see why I would have to buy a CD with the game on it as well - but I can't find an online way to purchase and pay for the upgrade?
Meanwhile, here's one of my favourite place to relax and unwind in WoW:

I like that place too. Esp when we down the boss there.

The oddest thing happened last night.
I happened to be in the vicinity of the Gurubashi Arena a few minutes before 9 pm and decided to have a look at who else might be there trying to loot the pirate treasure chest that is dropped every three hours.
Every single time I've had a look before, there have been higher level players there, so I haven't had a chance to get at the chest without getting killed.
Last night, there wasn't a living soul at the arena! I could peacefully loot the chest without anyone interfering.
*wondering if she missed some exceptional RL event but hasn't seen anything extraordinary in the news*

Yeah, Wrath of the Lich King.

Oh come on - that event took place several days ago!

I imagine that most people are busy leveling or raiding and not caring about the gear in the arena.

Titania (gone for lunch) Posted Dec 5, 2008
Surely only those close to/around level 70?
The Gamers Conversing in the Computer Room
marvthegrate LtG KEA Posted Dec 5, 2008
I don't know stats for sure, but I imagine that the vast majority of WoW players have 70's and are leveling them to 80.
Key: Complain about this post
