Morning all, only 5 posts since last night !
As I live in constant fantasy land according to my sons (the cat 'does' understand every word I say ), I'm already living a LARPG! But its good to know others are doing well at it.
I was up earlry too this a.m. Amy, perhaps its our body clocks saying that the days are getting longer, or aforementioned cat just wanting her kitekat earlier!

Apologies to all - wasn't it ironical that a posting on spam turned into spam itself?
I clicked 'Post Message' - and waited, refreshed my conversation page - nothing, waited some more, refreshed conversation page again - still nothing, repeat x 5
...and finally I gave up, because my user page turned up empty - random database trouble? Because Phil obviously managed to get a posting in between...
Sorry, must have been all that

Look at the user number (as displayed on the user page, not in the URL)

That looks like a problem for the great Jim Lynn. I bet h2g2 can't handle numbers that large. It could be a sign of impending doom, like the y2k problem - as soon as Researcher XXXXXXXXXX signs up, h2g2 goes "KABLOOEY!"
Congrats on Fuzzy Heroes, Mac. And don't spend the money all in one place.

And I would like to add my (cough cough cough) to Sporky's glowing endorsement of Mac OS X. It's by far the best way for the average person to get a functioning, stable unix without hassle. But if you are married to your hardware, Caer, go for the XP over ME. I installed it on the one computer in our office that used to have ME, and almost all the complaints from that person changed. Many of them actually stopped.

I have had very few problems with XP myself. What a godsend it was
*sporky, who upgraded from ME*

Thanks for the advice d'E and sea, H had more or less decided to move over to XP, he was just concerned that it would intefer with my gaming. He feels that I don't object to him w*rking on reports etc at the weekends and evenings, if I'm in the same room playing an rpg.
Actually I don't object at all, it just gives me the excuse to play

*sigh* I guess I better start checking whether all my software and peripherals will make the switch to XP. Plus this will mean a clean install on both machines. Plus, now that I think of it, this will cost a lot of money to fix something that ain't actually broke. At least not broke in the Gatesian sense.
Well good morning y'all, and Carmel Bunny it sure is good to see your fuzzy face again and hear the news about our Mac!

Morning all!
Hey, Marv, does that mean I have a place to crash when I get there if I haven't found one of my own already?
Carmel! Good to see you again. Hullo to Mac and Mrs Mac. One for each of you. And congrats on the brilliant debuts of the new LARPS.
Amy, I recommend a long nap this afternoon. Its all that gets me through some days.
Reunions. Mine is next year and I plan to go, if only so that I can laugh at all of those people who thought they knew me so well.
Matina, some please. Thank you.

Woo-hoo! I finally understand how to make QBASIC understand the concepts of files and records! I'm all caught up on class work! Now, just to see if I can enter that programming comp....
