Lonnytunes - Winter Is Here Posted Feb 26, 2002
Oh dear. It appears New Zealand is in trouble with the British press. The Queen (of England and New Zealand among other countries) is touring Godzone. At last night's State Dinner our beloved leader, Helen Clark, turned up wearing trousers. Apparently this is a big no no. To make matters worse Helen also made the decision that grace would not be said before eating. Apparently, this is because we are a more secular country nowadays.
I'm with Helen

Had art class this evening. Tedious stuff -- akin to technical drawing.
Affi, fantastic about the new instrument! What sort of difference does it make? Is the fingering easier? The tone better?
Dr-to-be Redhead, I envy you the choice you have to make. both options have so much to offer...
This has been a slow thread, hasn't it. Perhaps we had more weekends in this conversation than we usually do.
Oh, Amy, are those graphics tablets?

And did you, sea?
I'd go for the course you like best, MT, followed by the location. I wouldn't take the name thing into account, unless the other one has a dire reputation, although named uni's tend to have better facilities like libraries and what not. But do ignore me I'm glad it's you making the decision. And it sounds difficult enough to be flattering!
My hair is all gone. I went back to the place which gave me a terrible haircut last time. This sounds like blatant masochism, but it was only 2 pounds. And there is something quite liberating about having no idea what they will do to your hair once you are in the chair. As it turns out, although I asked for exactly the same thing as last time, this time they gave me what I wanted. So at least I now know that my Russian isn't that crappy. It is a bit drafty round the back of my neck, though.

Titania (gone for lunch) Posted Feb 26, 2002
It seems that Mc Donald's have opened the world's first drive-through - for snowcats/snowmobiles!
...in PiteƄ, Sweden... well, considering there is so much snow and so few roads, it really is a common method of transport up in the north...

Munchkin Posted Feb 26, 2002
At Clydebank, just along the Clyde from Glasgow, there is a sail through fish and chip shop on a canal. It claims to be the only one, and I'm not terribly surprised.

Amy the Ant - High Manzanilla of the Church of the Stuffed Olive Posted Feb 26, 2002
Yes, there was a bit of a tremor. I ended up triple posting a long guruing answer to a newbie. She'll probably run away at the sight of it.
*looks at A4 graphics tablet* Maybe not, Lil. The new tablets are the ones that control the problems caused by the other tablets. There has to be a more obvious solution. I wonder what that might be?

Peripatetic Warrior Monk Posted Feb 26, 2002
How Doin Atelieranistas, Monk here, forsaken the windy rainy snowy weather of that green and pleasant land for a spot of sun. Workin hard (!!!???) with a gentle spot of reggae in the distance, sun and deep blue all around, got me lightweight summer cassock on and grooving to the tune of another rum punch. May even get a few minutes bottom time (diving term not chauvinist!) in. Hope you are all well, had a quick surf through Blog, glad to hear that Munchers not too damp, and Caer looking hoopy for Paris. Disappointed to be missing out on Rug this coming W/E, hopefully teh French can dent teh arrogant English, and the plucky welsh can save a bit more face!
Music bit like art, for me, mood dependent, some days Division Bell makes perfect sense, others it doesnt, some days are Turner days others you just have to say Jackson Pollocks! Thanks for the Games Marv, lots of little human dramas, and not too much in way of SERIOUS conflict; Sport Good! (Although amused to hear that riot police deployed to curb high spirits of some inebriated revellers!)
