I know that its excessive. But I do wear them all. No Imelda Marcos-esque hoarding of shoes for me.

Bumblebee Posted Oct 3, 2001
I love shoes! Though I've just had an cleanup in that cupboard, so:
One pair of black ankle-length boots, comfortable sole, zipper in front, square toe.
One pair of sandals, two broad straps over the wrist, one around back, good sole.
Those two are my favorites.
Then I've got:
One pair of sandals, thin blue straps, thick sole, a little high heeled.
Two pairs of Arpedico shoes, one black pair, one green.
One pair of hysterical orange rubber boots, ankle-high, grip sole for those wet and icy winter/spring days, plenty of room for woolly socks.
One pair of black, sparkling round-nosed, flat shoes with glitter on them so they look a bit corny and cool at the same time if you know what I mean...
One pair of brown sued pumps, semi high heel that I doubt I'll ever use.
One pair of worn out, slimsy trainers. (I hate new trainers)
One pair of blue/grey woolly "grandma"-slippers with black pompons.
And this doesn't stop me from gazeing through every shoe-shop window I pass!

Shoes? OK here we go...
3 pr Doc Marten 3 hole shoes
2 pr Merrell apres sport
1 pr nike cycling shoes
1 pr dexter bowling shoes
1 pr lugz urban assault boots
5 pr vans skating shoes (in various levels of disrepair)
1 pr nike basketball shoes
1 pr florsheim formal tuxedo shoes
2 pr hiking boots
1 pr nike deschutes hiking sandals
3 pr teva sandals
Yes this is excessive, but I have a particular need. If I ever need a certain type of shoe it is best that I already own them as it is a bear to find anything to fit my feet. If I see them I get them. I also have a number of other old shoes that never get worn. Most of mine fit a specific need (i.e. the cycling and bowling shoes). My shoe size is 16 US 15 UK 53 EU and I forget how many cm.

I know just how you feel, Bumblebee. New shoes always brighten my day.
Cafram, having seen Marv's feet in person, I can tell you that they look even bigger than you imagine them to be.
Marv. Ya know we love ya!

Oh dear, now I have shoe envy.
I remember when I first had more than one pair of shoes at a time. The excitement was enourmous.
Now I have:
a pair of battered slippers.
a pair of large soled fur lined zip up boots of which I am inordinately proud.
two pairs of doc marten shoes. They are exactly the same and are possedsed of buckles and look rather twee actually, but there you go.
a pair of strappy purple sandles with little pink flowers on. I only have them cos I had to go to a wedding last year.
That's it. The shame, the shame. It's not through lack of interest, I'm just not very good at buying shes. No resolution.
A description. Oh dear. I'll have to think about this...

OMG 3 hours away and there is backlog.
No. I am not doing shoes
*trying to hide the carrier bag containing a new pair of boots, bought this morning*
Description? Well, would like to be taller and have redder hair (natural rather than bottle). Would like to be organised and tidy like Monica in Friends, but sons say I am like Phoebe..mad! But am an average height, average looks (everything in its proper place), average Brit really.
Arl, No2 son did explain it to me, the need for all these guitars that is, and to cut a long justification short, its for when the day dawns that he is performing on stage he will have a guitar set up for each sound! He plays in what ever style he is in the mood for. Oddly, when he is a happy chappy he will blues and grunge, both which make me really depressed!

I have just started and deleated 5 descriptions...trailed off each time and began to describe the character I'm trying to write instead. Too dangerous now, can't have you all believing that I am a plush llama. Will try again later. Oh, darn, where have I set my mug this time?
Rana Llama - you are sweet tempered and cute but you hope to become a fierce bed monster some day...
Er, what page is this?

I have never been much of a shopper for anything (except duct tape). I've also got a bit of a problem with shoes as I don't buy leather. The current circulation of shoes:
Nice fuzzy green fleece slippers
One pair Birkenstocks
One pair sneakers that I actually real like, newish
One pair nike cleats for baseball season
One pair boot-type shoes about 1 inch elevated that I got from Kmart for five dollars, that in a surprise twist have lasted three years, and are waterproof.
I also have almost every pair of shoes I've ever worn in my closet, as I've lived in the same house for the entire span of my memory and then some. Dress shoes from the fourth grade and other such delights. My greatest shoe joy is being size 42 european.

one pair black suede slippers with wooly lining (they smell, I'll admit... very hard not to get sweaty feet in woolen slippers)
three pairs black Pumas (classic suede)
one pair red Pumas (classic suede)
one pair purple and yellow Pumas (classic suede)
one pair black Nike (courderoy- the last of the bunch, before they were discontinued )
one pair blue Puma flip flops
one pair Orvis sandals (brown suede straps)
one pair British Knights clodhoppers (ugly black sneakers)
That's it for me. I don't own a single pair of boots (that's what the BK's are for)

*floating in, in her usual vague, elf-like manner*
(that would be part of my description)
No Hati, you're not lurking, you're posting!
A lurker just lurks without leaving any trace... but I wouldn't recommend it - a hell of a job to keep up with backlog if you don't leave any bookmarks!
*goes straight to the fridge and starts emptying it, looking for the champagne bottle, because she'd like to include that in description*

Bald Bloke Posted Oct 3, 2001
Looking at the rate of LED production,I think we must be going for the online equivilent of what exercise fetishists call the burn
*deservedly late entry for the (non) music list*
One voice, so bad I was excused compulsory choir practice at school, The music teacher wrote on my report "We can't all be good at every thing, I don't reccomend seeking employment in the music business"
Strange thing is, then the Punk revolution happened, I think I could have had been a great prospect in that
* the Emelda Marcos award list *
3 pairs of scruffy but comfortable trainers (no recognisable brand names mostly bought "off the market")
2 pair of decent but fairly plain brouges, 1 black 1 brown which both get little use apart from the rare occasions when I'm forced into "proper clobber".
1 pair expensive black shoes bought to go to a friends wedding which felt fine when trying them on in the shop but which were so uncomfortable when used properly that I swapped back to my old pair before I got to the service and they have never been out since.
one pair steel capped safety shoes (work issue) get renewed roughly every six months and thats about all they last before they fall to bits.
two pairs steel capped safety boots, for some reason these don't fall apart like the shoes so I've got a new pair which have been issued but never used.
One pair steel capped wellingtons aquired for use on really wet sites where the mud would overtop the ordinary boots.
*personal description*
Will have to wait until I've come back from the pub
