Between the smiling, the laughing and the chicken soup, I've decided to take this as a good sign.

*smug smile, knowing the updating of the conversations haven't reached further than October last year*
Thanks for the horsie help, Amy!

I wish that posts from about july 1999 would come back. I miss those old threads.

I'm sure I would, too.

The whoel reason that I am still on the guie goes back to a certain Beer thread. Remember that one Loony?

My browser woes are much improved. Today's Mozilla doesn't crash every 10 minutes, and it's much faster.
At the rate they are going, I don't think we will see threads from 1999 for another 4 or 5 years.

Sure do remember it Marv. Hic. Here's something for you.
A man is flying in a hot air balloon and realizes he is lost. He reduces height and spots a man down below. He lowers the balloon further and shouts:
"Excuse me, can you tell me where I am?"
The man below says: "yes, you're in a hot air balloon, hovering 30 feet above this field."
"You must work in Information Technology" says the balloonist.
"I do" replies the man. "How did you know."
"Well" says the balloonist, "everything you have told me is technically correct, but it's no use to anyone."
The man below says "you must work in Management.
"I do" replies the balloonist, "but how did you know?"
"Well", says the man, "you don't know where you are, or where you're going, but you expect me to be able to help. You're in the same position you were before we met, but now it's my fault."

Ah yes, that is a mainstay of the IT world. I had it posted on my cube a while back but got told to take it down as it conveyed something of an anti- team spirit.

I heard that joke a few days ago, only with Lawyers, and without the bit about the managers.

Really, Marv. Try showing a little spirit at work. In fact, why not start a bonfire in your cubicle. If questioned, simply say that you were trying to get to know your co-workers, by organizing a bit of a camp fire.
It won't work, but if you're lucky you can get a few roasted marshmallows off before anyone notices.

I was more thinking of a few roasted cow orkers.

Oh my gosh.
I LOVE my dorm!!!
Okay, first, one of the RA's on my floor (who is standing in front of me) is WAAAAAY cute. Well, maybe a bit bookish, but still way cute. And smart, too. Apparently he expects me to know nothing about computers, since he was /so/ impressed that I knew what a router was. *rolls eyes* He already asked if i'd give him a massage... jeez, out of my parents' house for... 12 hours now and already i'm being hit on by seniors.
The other RA is incredibly nice. My roommate is pretty cool, she's a really outgoing BLONDE (arl) cheerleader , but she’s nice... I think we'll get along just fine – that is, IF she buys her own Ethernet cable. She can't share mine forever...
Im exhausted, though. I'm on the third floor of my building, so to avoid the lines for the elevator, we just dragged all our stuff up the stairs.
now we're having a little "party" in our common room, but i'm in here on the internet. *rolls eyes* i'm so antisocial...

Well I can make one for you... Shipping might be a lot tho, it would cost an airline ticket to Souther California . I really do need to go back soon to see all of my family down there. But I might be there next weekend for about 18 hours.
