h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

Lil has returned to the atelier after a protracted absence, during which she was moving from one part of the country to another. On her return she has found no excess of calling cards, no dirty dishes, no broken furniture, and only one stain on the carpet which, Chloe has explained in a whisper, was caused by some kind of cheese.

But there has been an abundance of interesting conversation and the usual camaraderie -- carried to excess, perhaps, by that well-known tart Babael-17. Chris Tonks has just left for Italy, possibly to negotiate an extradition treaty between San Beta and the Vatican. Gw7en has just closed on a new house and will (we hope) be describing the place to us shortly. Garius Lupus has just come back from vacation and is ensconced in his new apartment with his family. Munchkin was last heard of doing free cleaning services for various domestic locations in the USA. Sea is having trouble concentrating because of a loud mechanical thing in her driveway. OP/BHB?/Phil is several weeks into his new job. Amy has visitors this weekend, and we hope she has made it through the medical gauntlet. Afi is nearly finished with band camp and will probably have about 5 minutes of leisure before he runs downstairs and resumes his ill-defined (to us) activities in the bowels of CLI, whose motto is... um...

And we hope Marv has A/C at work again, and that Zeppo will get tired of chasing the goats, who are getting tired of Zeppo and are planning retaliatory action. Looney is facing the end of summer and, we predict, hanging out at the club.

Lil is sitting in the living area of her new home, listening to a woodpecker on the apple tree outside and to the strange noises that goats make. There are other salonistas that I haven't mentioned specifically -- Arlecchino, Montana Red, Ming Mang, Zeppo's owner D'Elephant, and our strong Scandi contingent. Titania, did you change jobs? I can't remember. There were so many changes going on this summer. And now bumblebee is fixing to demolish the living room. I noticed that eatsmice is still coming in some days, but where are Bald Bloke and one-eye?

Art any rate, here we all are, wandering about the gardens and terrace, working in the library, watching telly in the TV room, sequestering in guest rooms, mooching around Matina the maidbot in the kitchen, or just hanging out in the salon area with Mindspring the Unau.

Those Italics sure are helpful - Peta clarified the poem in my entry (once again) and then yikesed it, adding a note to moderators - hopefully something like 'hands off'! ...and then clarified it again... I still haven't received an answer from the h2g2 artist if it's OK to use only part of a h2g2 picture, so I'll just leave that up for now, until someone tells me not to...
