Indeed, I popped off to Paris a couple of weeks ago and came back about a week ago, and took some pictures. Sadly I won't be able to upload them until I get back from Italy (leaving tomorrow, you see).

I can live with the heat of band camp, the discipline of band camp, the daily stretching routines before band camp, and the fact that I'm going to be sick and tired of the themes from Star Wars, Indiana Jones, Jaws, Superman, E.T., and Jurassic Park by the end of this week. But it's the preparation that I put into band camp that I really can't stand....

Only one more significant purchase to make -- a vacuum cleaner -- and a few weeks to wait until my chattels come in from Florida. Fellow Americans, when I get over to ezboard I will give you the name of an amazingly reasonably priced moving company. This entire thing, the packing, moving out, storage and final shipping across the country, is costing me less than four thousand dollah.

And this morning I will DEFINITELY set up a web page with pics of my new home.

Amy, are you at home again? Are you well? Chris, what will you be doing in Italy? Oh, I have a7 hour time difference now, not 5; he's probably gone already...

I've got no idea what I'll be doing in Italy! Probably relaxing a lot by the pool and writing my book. We'll be doing a bit of sight-seeing of course, but for the most part this is a R&R holiday.

Thanks to everyone for the congrats! I will be taking my camera on Sunday when we take possession and will get pictures of the place empty. Probably won't get them posted for a while, but once I do I'll let everyone know.

There were so many things that I wanted to comment on, but now that I'm here, I can't remember a single one of them. Ah well, if they come back to me, I'll just post again.

Heat wave continues. The last 3 days had record temperatures - 37 degrees C here yesterday! It's only 25 in my office now - the air conditioning seems to be working a little better (it was 30 in here when I left on Tuesday).

I'll be in your state next week on vacation, but no time to stop by Hiking with my dad in the Silver City area. Nature Conservancy has a place near there that we've got reservations at.
