I didn't think that "A Midsummer Night's Dream" did sell so well... But then, anything written by Shakespeare, regardless of the title, would now be considered a classic.
But go on, call it that on the page. It's not as if it's a particularly important story...

Hello everyone, three new stories up today!
(well, if I'd been concentrating, they would have all been up a couple of weeks ago!)
A couple of new writers:
Chybrain with Flying Cities
and R K1024-T with The Mirror
And another story from Bluebottle, entitled A Story About Something Or Other...

Ah, good day to all!
Erm...not too sure about this one...it's not on h2g2, but is related to it...
A few people will know about this already actually...
"Life of a GalaGroup Overseer"
http://www.bigc.org.uk/alterlife/story.html
It's my very own sci-fi novel, well the 1st 6 chapters of it online at least, detailing the stories of my VR life, and how I came to power. It doesn't refer to h2g2, but, as I said, it does relate to it in a big way...

I'm reading some of it now...
I'm not sure about linking it as it's not on h2g2... I think that if we make the rule that the material has to be on h2g2 it keeps it as a researcher thing and avoids broken links. I'm not entirely certain so if somebody wants to persuade me otherwise then they can

No probs...
I just don't really like the rule stating that I have 'shared' rights over my work with h2g2. Well...hmm....one possibility:
I've finished the planning for the entire thing, and am presently writing a sort of shortened version of the tale, for people who request the plot to be spoiled for them...
I could post that on h2g2, as I won't be actually using it in the book...

I don't think the Towers would do anything with h2g2 Fiction: and if they ask then I'll say no unless each individual writer gives permission. Same as putting stuff in the Post.
That reminds me: if anyone here has posted fiction up and has not given me permission to put it in the Post yet, is it OK if I do? I'm putting one story in each weekly edition of the Post. This will hopefully let more people read it and comment on it.

Hi Peregrin,
There's a little story wot I wrote (as Ernie used to say):
http://www.h2g2.com/A408412
I was given the title "A Special Occasion", and challenged to write a short story on that theme. Perhaps we could generate interest with a monthly challenge along those lines - the person whose story is voted best becomes "Author Laureate" for a month. They could even have a special badge...
Anyway, there it is. You may do as much (or as little) with it as you please

Good idea... I don't know if there's enough budding writers hanging around at the moment but it would be a cool idea if/when there are.
Like the story... I'll put it up now.

If anyone else was likely to, and if I wasn't writing a 2,500 word essay at the time, I'd write a short story based on a random title that Peregrin or whoever chose.
It's a great idea.

Another little practice story, started from the title: "A Walk in the Woods".
This one might appeal a little more to the SF-leaning membership

Actually, Peregrin, I've had to pull it completely for the moment for unavoidable reasons...I'll explain more later (I'm away for the next week or so).
Sorry about the inconvenience.

Hi everybody... wakey wakey... *prod*
There's a new story up by Kumetanzuka, entitled Prison Break. Enjoy!
And please take a look at the forum entitled 'Plot Line' - it's about a thing I'm planning for the Post, to try to reinvigorate interest in h2g2 Fiction. I hope that you take part!

I like it, you've got a superb natural writing style. Is it based on a real life event?
I'll add a link to it from the fiction page now...
From time to time we put a story as an article in the Post, the h2g2 weekly newspaper... is it okay if I use yours sometime?
