I'd say - Good Idea. Could you use mine first before I delete 'em?
Good thinking!

Trailer of the Temptress
Deidzoeb Posted Jul 20, 2000
is the title of an old story I've had kicking around. I'll gladly trade reviews with anyone who can spare a few minutes to give me feedback. Trailer of the Temptress is at A398748. Happy enTrails!

Peregrin Posted Jul 25, 2000
Trailer of the Temptress is superb by the way, I recommend it highly.
This week the Post http://www.h2g2.com/U54963 features Eeyore's 'On a wing and a prayer'. A different story will be featured each week from now on. So keep them rolling in! Let me know if you would rather that your work doesn't appear in the Post.

Lonnytunes - Winter Is Here Posted Jul 28, 2000
Peregrin, don't put my two in the Post. I write an occassional column for them which, I imagine, is enough of my burblings.

Peregrin Posted Jul 28, 2000
Thanks for the permission everyone...
Are you sure Loonytunes? Why not ?
There's plenty of stories to get through and at one a week it'll be ages before we run out, so if you change your mind later we could still publish them.

As a matter of interest, I've submitted my story (TMitM) to various internet amateur writing sites today, to see what would happen. I've already had a positive response from one site. Let me know if any of you wish to do the same and want a list of sites where you can.
Oh and last Monday's Post didn't feature a h2g2 Fiction story because I was away for the weekend and forgot to sort it out before I went! Whoops.
I'd appreciate it if everyone's stories could have a link to h2g2 Fiction. Don't if you don't want to, but it'd be nice. Either a text link or graphic, top or bottom. I'll put the code for the graphic link on the h2g2 Fiction page.
We haven't had any new stories for a while - anyone got anything hanging about? Or know anyone else who'd like to submit something?

This week's story to be featured in the Post is Earring Saga by Mind.
I'm only featuring stories from people who have given my permission to put them in the Post at the moment. So if it's okay I'd appreciate permission from some more of you
heads up!

Just came out of exile for a little while. I love what you've done with the old place. Today, the Post, tommorrow the world! I like the new stories, too. I am especially very much liking Traliler of the Temptress. BTW my permission is given for my stuff to be used and abused in any way.
BTW #2 - H2G2 still runs the same one Eyestorm ad. I'm SURE this place must cost more than the clickthroughs on THAT. H2G2: sko tax loss mechanism? Oh well. Going back to exile for another couple a months now,
Lance.

New story at http://www.h2g2.com/A421354 called,
"Myth of the Mountain-Tree." ************
This is the story of the Mountain-Tree. Two Gods were hanging out in the area we now call "Kansas." Etchiti lay on his side in the grass, propped up on one elbow, for he was the God of Flat. He had much responsibility in Kansas, chasing away Gods of Rivers and Lakes that would dig valleys through his land, making deals with the Hill Gods to keep them at bay, and that funny adventure that involved blinding the Mountain God so he would never find the plains. But like I say, that's another adventure, so we won't go into it...

I've a story here:
http://www.h2g2.com/A446537
and it is called:
"A Story About Something Or Other, I'm Not Sure What... It's Not Really About Nuclear War.... Hmmm... If I Think Of Something To Call This I'll Let You Know."

Peregrin Posted Oct 2, 2000
Great! Um... can I shorten that?
yetanothernewbitof Fiction withaverylongandpointlesstitle
Bluebottle Posted Oct 3, 2000
No!
How would Shakespeare have thought if "Hamlet" was shortened to "Ham"? Or "King John" "King Lear" "King Henry V" all the parts of "King Henry IV" etc. where shortened to "King". Or "A Midsummer Night's Dream" was shortened to "A Midsummer"? Or "Anthony and Cleopatra" was shortened to "Anthony And"...?

Peregrin Posted Oct 3, 2000
On the other hand, do you think 'A Midsummer Night's Dream' would have sold so well if it was called 'A Midsummer Night's Dream Of Various Weird Things Like People With Donkey's Heads And Everyone Randomly Falling In Love With Each Other, Not To Mention Various Mischievous Cherubs And Stuff'?

Can I just call it 'A Story About Something Or Other...' on the h2g2 Fiction page?
