Ray Bradbury needs to be added to scifi/fantasy, definitely. Tanith Lee would be good, too, for fantasy, and there are two entries on Neil Gaiman - Imagery and Neil Gaiman at http://www.h2g2.com/A258662 and Neil Gaiman's Sandman at http://www.h2g2.com/A108606. And I claim the privilege of writing an entry on Isaac Asimov (I wouldn't mind cooperating; I just want to participate smiley - smiley)

Henry David Thoreau, it is. I emphatically second E.E. Cummings and, from further up, Madeline L'Engle!

I'll cry if you don't add the following to the list:

Raymond Carver (General)
William Gibson (Sci-fi)
Torv Jansson (erm...difficult to categorise. He writes for kids, strictly speaking, but the "Moomins" series definitely
holds a lot for adults too).

I'll have articles for all the above posted as soon as I can get round to it...in fact I might start right away....

Have NONE of you ever read "Dune"? I'ts arguably one of the best SciFi books around. It was written by Frank Herbert, and I think you should definitely(?) add him to the list.

Okay, okay. After a bit of nosing about, it became fairly clear that Dune was not absent from The Guide.

I still recon Frank Herbert should be put on the list (Under SciFi).

Oh, and while I'm here, for comedy-drama: Kate Atkinson and for straight drama: Sebastian Faulks. And heck, for straight comedy Helen Fielding.
Is Tolkein in here? Cos he should be smiley - smiley

Ariadni (Keeper of Dolphins and Cinnamon Incense)

A very impressive list of authors all round,
but... am I the only person that finds Philip
K. Dick one of the most influential (not to
mention prolific) sci-fi writers?

Could you please add him to the list?

Cheers,
Ariadni
